Antarctica Flights

1 day sightseeing flights over Antarctica departing from Australian airports

Reviewed By Direstraits2013 - Melbourne, Australia

We flew on the Feb 12 flight out of Melbourne. The trip was extremely well organized and professional. We splurged on business class (it was a special occasion) and I would recommend this to anyone who can even remotely afford it, as the passenger to window ratio is almost 1:1, so you dont miss out on anything.
The Qantas service was superb and the commentary was excellent. We saw McMurdo Station, Scott Base, Mt Erebus, the Trans Antarctic range etc, along with spectacular scenery.
The trip exceeded the hype and the views were awesome.

Chadstone prides itself on being the fashion capital, which it probably is, although I was very disappointed on three visits and not being able to find that special occasion outfit. However, I probably won't ever go there again because of the dangerous car park and curbs. In an underground car park, not brightly lit, an elderly person, had a fall on a curb which was not painted, breaking a bone - followed by a paramedic who came to transport the patient also tripping in the same place. This is really serious stuff !! More lights in underground car park and painting of ALL curbs please Chadstone before more people lose their independence, or heaven forbid, their life.

Our kids have been doing lessons here for a couple of years now. They love the lessons and then love jumping in the pirate pool and having a good play. It does get busy on the weekends and school holidays - but anywhere that has this much to offer is going to.

Jewish Holocaust Centre

The Jewish Holocaust Museum and Research Centre is an institution dedicated to the memory of the six million Jews who were murdered by the Nazis and their collaborators between 1933 and 1945.

Reviewed By BepeAustralia - Australia

Melbourne has the largest Jewish Holocaust survivor community outside of Israel, I believe, and this museum is an excellent showcase for the horrors experienced during WWII. Suitable for all ages with guides able to explain what you are seeing, including some who were even incarcerated. There are films as well as exhibits so there is something for everyone.

Basterfield Park

I live nearby and visit the park regularly. It is pleasant to walk around the lake, there are lots of seats, barbecue facilities, an undercover area, toilets, 2 Playgrounds and wonderful trees. Families often use the undercover area for children's parties. Parking is also no problem.
But Bayside Council should take greater care of the lake, remove the pampas grass and not let the reeds encroach on large areas of the lake.
