Just another fun park but with the advantage of being indoors out of the tropical heat & rain in the wet season. Movie theatre for those who don't do rides..Although I do enjoy the dodgem cars.

Malino Tea Plantation

Reviewed By Brian B - Makassar, Indonesia

The tea plantation contains a small menagerie and a number of birds in a large aviary. The cafe at the peak of the hill is quite reasonably priced and views are great. When I was last there they also had some imported horses available for brief rides. These horses are taller and better fed than those down in the pine forest area but the handlers don't seem as confident as those with their own local horses.
There are a number of rooms near the entrance to the plantation with fairly good facilities but no internet and poor cell connectivity.

Kodingareng Keke Island

From Makassar by boat to this island is around 45 minutes. There are some good spots for snorkeling near the island. The island also amazing. The sands are very white and clean. Great place to take pictures. This place is very recommended for short trip from Makassar.

Fort Rotterdam

Reviewed By IftekharA-Sep2016

One of the prime tourist sites of Makassar. The fort is strategically located to protect any invasion from land or sea. The forts design/shape is similar to other Dutch forts such as Galle Dutch Fort. Entrance is free (although you have to register and the Police will ask for donation!!!! WE didn't pay any donation) and you don't need a guide.

Makassar Great Mosque

Reviewed By KGB777 - Singapore, Singapore

This is a large and fairly modern mosque. I visited in the afternoon on a Sunday and there weren't too many people inside, and no problems for non-Muslims to enter (of course taking shoes off first). The interior isn't really that spectacular. The best part of the mosque is the facade and the minaret. Worth a look when you're in Makassar.

Losari Beach

Fairly run down Promenade that overlooks an unfortunately polluted sea due to large commercial harbour a stones through away. They seem to be developing more industry just offshore by building what seems like an artificial island. Not much to look at and pretty much nothing to do. Disappointing.

Al Fatih Al Anshar Mosque

Reviewed By Danny T - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Al Fatih Al Anshar Mosque is quite a new mosque located along Losari Beach. It is akin to a floating mosque and is a very good spot to capture some really nice pictures, especially during the sunset period. You can see scores of faithful Moslems praying here.

Akkarena Beach

Reviewed By Tubbydubs - Singapore, Singapore

As it was the rainy season (January) when we went, the footpaths were muddy and sky cloudy, so we only spent about 10mins there. Nothing much there, just a pleasant expanse of sand and water, popular with dating couples, and some food and drink stalls. The jetty is in need of repairs - watch out for rotting planks, gaping holes and rusted nails!
