Go early!!!!! As early as possible. We came back down around 10:30-11ish and the que was unbelievable!! We got up straight away with hardly any waiting around 9:30. The views are amazing but definable wait for a clear day. Definitely look at getting the z ticket if doing a couple of other things in the area, can save lots of money! Building work when we were there however didnt ruin the views.

Try the Monster Scooters in Biberwier, Austria for a thrilling ride. More fun than the luge. Biberwier trail is gravel which is much better than paved trails at other places. Chairlift up (two levels) plus ride down takes about one hour. We took our three teenagers and this was a highlight of the 10-day trip. Better for kids than visiting Castles, walled cities, old town squares, museums. Cost for 2 hours is a better value than 1 hour

We did this tour today when it was not so hot. The climb to get to the attraction takes about 1 hour. There you can have a drink before paying your entry fee and then one can walk further uphill over stairs and footpaths along the waterfall between two huge Mountains. Sometimes you walk alongside the water, sometimes through covered corridors carved out of the rocks. It takes about half an hour to arrive at the top and then one can either return the same way or use an even longer route. Not for people with bad feet or legs. It's steep and sometimes difficult although the rating says "easy". Nevertheless when you have 3 hours and a good condition, it's a must-do activity.

Just couldn't do it . So let me explain, I am afraid of heights and when I got there and realized that the bridge did move and ya it was definitely high I bowed out. My friend went and loved the views. My understanding is that is the longest suspension bridge in Austria. It was a great walk in the forest to get there. Yes it is up hill but the path is paved. Someone traveling with us has back and leg issues and was able to do the walk. You also have the opportunity to go to the Ehrenberg castle ruins which have a wonderful 360 view of your surrounding. Mountains and a village below. We could actually hear Bavarian music playing from the town. Again me and my heights there were a few freaky spots for me . I really enjoyed this stop. We did not do the museum that was also there by the parking area in the valley. For hiking lovers they do have a few trails you can take.

During our stay in Lermoor we visited the climbing crag nearby at Bichlbach. It is located next to a little fun and entertainmanet park where kids can have a swim and fun all day long. The couple, which is running the place is very nice. The trails are divided in various sections form easy to moderate. In comparison to other trails I have done, this one is not to difficult - even the blue one, which is supposed to be the most difficult. A brave 8 year old can even handle this one whit now problems. A nice one it that you have 3 little flying foxes. Due to the difficulty level this one is suitable for familys...

Yet another of the eccentric King Ludwig II's magnificently odd architectural creations.
Read a couple of reviews talking about not bothering with the tour but they were so wrong. The inside of this castle is absolutely beautiful and unlike any other castle I've ever seen. The history is also very interesting. We went with gray tours and had a fab day. It took the stress out of having to arrange it all ourselves and our tour guide taught us lots of facts. Would recommend

In the water and on the water, on land, and in the Mountains – at the Eibsee lake, you have diverse options for enjoying the summer. Absolutely unique: the crystal-clear Eibsee at the base of the Zugspitze, 1,000 m (3281 ft.) above sea level. Embedded in a magnificent Alpine Panorama and beautiful in every season. A day at the Eibsee is the highlight of a vacation in the Zugspitze Region. The Eibsee lake is located around 13 km (8 mi.) southwest of the center of Garmisch-Partenkirchen beneath the Zugspitze mountain in the Wetterstein range in Bavaria. It part of Zugspitze Village Grainau and is privately owned by the family that owns the Eibsee Hotel. With its clear, Emerald green water, it is truly one of the most beautiful lakes in the Bavarian Alps. 32.5 m (107 ft.) deep, greatest length 2450 m (8038 ft.), greatest width 850 m (2789 ft.), circumference 8.800 m (28,871 ft.), surface area 1,796 km² (693 mi2)
Have run around the Eibsee almost every trip to Garmisch. Absolutely picture perfect, with a well maintained trail the 4+ miles around it. With the Mountains on one side, and the lake on the other, there's no more beautiful place, at least in my mind. Fall colors add an even better touch. For the Marathon runners, have someone drive you out there, then run around the lake, and then back to Garmisch. There is a trail, and it's mostly down hill from the lake. Additionally, they are almost finished with a new Cable Car to the summit of the Zugspitze, with the ascent beginning near the Eibsee.
