Lefkada's name means "white," from the famous white cliffs of Cape Lefkata, site of an ancient temple of Apollo, where rumor has it that the celebrated Lesbian poet Sappho flung herself from the rocks. To stay with the mythology theme, don’t miss a boat tour on the mighty Odysseia, a colorful replica of a Greek war ship. You can also explore deserted monasteries in the mountains, splash around under the Nidri waterfalls and swim at some of Greece's most famous and beautiful beaches.

The place is more beautiful then the pictures on internet!
It is lined with round white stones, hence the color of the water.
The only amenities are the umbrellas and the concrete stairs, so it is not for old people or for families with babies.
The only thing that spoils the place are the walking salesmen shouting their merchandise. Pity!...

This is a nice small organized beach with very clear water. The beach is large pebbles (small rocks) which makes it clean, but also means you should bring water shoes for your feet. There are lots of rocks along each shore so it's good for snorkeling.

Long stretch of mixed sand and pebble. Beautiful colour of the water and fairly warm water. A bit tricky getting out of the water with loose rocks under your feet. Nice beach loungers which we did not have to pay for, I suppose because it was October and late in the season,
There is also a restaurant bar to get food and drinks with toilet, shower and changing room facilities. It is a beach you can drive to. Plenty of free parking.

This beach is definitely my personal favourite. There are a couple of disadvantages, hence them being the main reasons why we visited this beach only once. Firstly, there are no road signs showing you where this beach is located. When we finally did reach the road leading to it, it turns out to be a disastrous road, especially when you're driving your own car. The road is hideous. At one point, we thought we took a wrong turn, but the people in a car behind us told us we were on the right road. After finally reaching and parking, you have another 800 metres by foot. There is a parking lot very close to the beach, but I don't know the price. Anyway, after reaching the beach, all disadvantages were forgotten. It was paradise. I really enjoyed the day spent there. There is a possibility of taking a taxi boat from Vassiliki to Agiofilli. But it only runs when there aren't any waves.

You must absolutely visit the Monasteri of Faneromeni as it is paradise. The monasteri itself is very well-preserved, very clean and the view is spectacular. It's very green, there's a wonderfull garden and a mini zoo. It's a must.

...very nice, large, sandy beach, parking was not an issue even in the highest season, some parts near the parking place and restaurant are more crowded, but you can walk a little and find more quiet place, there was a beautifull swimming there, the Deck restaurant (with a pool and showers) is a bit expensive and the waitress directly asked for the tip of 12% of the price...

We loved our visit to this incredible beach. We playd in the waves for ours and had a lot of fun. The have umbrellas and beds for rent, and a small kiosk/restaurant at the beach. This is probably not the beach for kids under the age of 3. Narrow and steep road down to the beach.
