Lefkada's name means "white," from the famous white cliffs of Cape Lefkata, site of an ancient temple of Apollo, where rumor has it that the celebrated Lesbian poet Sappho flung herself from the rocks. To stay with the mythology theme, don’t miss a boat tour on the mighty Odysseia, a colorful replica of a Greek war ship. You can also explore deserted monasteries in the mountains, splash around under the Nidri waterfalls and swim at some of Greece's most famous and beautiful beaches.

We have visited this family run restaurant three times during our 7th holiday on the island of Lefkas, and all our visits were perfect: the location, the service, the staff (authentic, interested and very friendly) and (of course) the diner and the wine. Especially our waiter Elina and the couple of owners were just perfect. We have visited many restaurants on the island during our holiday, but this one is the best one and we would recommend it to everyone for outstanding experience.
Thank you Costas and the staff for everything - and we hope to visit you again in the future. Best regards AHOJ from Slovakia.

Was passing at lunchtime so called in by chance. Very glad we did! A nice welcome, good service throughout. The food was Greek but was more sophisticated than usual. Beautifully presented, and with more flavour than most other restaurants. The local lentil dish was superb, as was the frigadeli (liver morsels on a skewer, cooked perfectly). We ordered several "starters" to share, and didn't have room for the dessert, unfortunately. A nice view, and although next to the road it was very quiet. Highly recommended.

Since 1995,high up on the mountain top the restaurant "Rachi" offering an exquisite view of the Ioanian Sea is really enticing to those who actually wish to drink their coffee, savour our homemade delicacies, our freshly gathered vegetables from our garden, taste our local meat and enjoy our wine.
Rachi was reccommended to us as a nice place to go for my birthday by a lovely lady we met at Avali Cantine down at the beach nearby.
It didnt disappoint.
The restaurant is on 2 levels high up in Exanthia overlooking the sea. There are tables inside but the main event is watching the sunset from the tables out on the Terrace. We arrived after 6 but had no trouble getting seated on the Terrace as it is end-of-season.
It can get a bit cold but the waiters will bring you a blanket for your knees. I must have looked like a tough guy because my girlfriend got one but I didn't despite asking twice - lose a point..
The menu was not extensive with say 8 main courses and similar numbers of salads, starters and desserts on offer plus 1/2 a dozen specials. The prices were shocking. Shockingly cheap that is. Top priced main was beef rib at €14 & a greek salad (decent & very large) was €5.
The sun duly set with lots of nitwits taking (ugh) 'selfies' of themselves against the background of a spectacular Greek sunset.
Looking at other reviews it seems Rachi gets very busy in season with 2 hour waits for a table but fair play to the owners for doing good food at ludicrously cheap prices. With that view and location they could easily get away with another 50% or more on the price and people would be happy to pay.
Our food was pretty good with large portions. I had the stuffed pork steak from the standard menu (nothing special) and my girlfriend had a pork fillet dish with lovely sauce. Hers was nicer but she wasnt feeling well & wasn't hungry so I ate a lot of it - as did a couple of huge well-fed cats.
We did get the cocktail menu (which is where they make the money I suspect) but were too slow to take our order & missed out on €25 or so. The salad had already arrived so we got the house 'red' which was actually rosé (red being called 'black' for some reason).
So a couple of service fails but overall a good experience at a great price. €35 all in.

"Kanioria" is a family restaurant located at the seafront.Nothing can be compared with dining at such a peaceful and beautiful place. Olive oil and fresh ingredients are used for our recipes. Try locally caught fish at reasonable prices here. House and regional wines are excellent. Dessert is always available.
Great food hadn't all including fussy teenagers, beautiful spot to dine, service great and so relaxed.

We have been there 2 times in 2 days. Mussaka is amazing, the pizza is very good. Wine 0.5 kg for 3 euro. We simply loved it, there is always full of people, but they will find a place for you. Easy restaurant but you feel they really care about you in there. Prices are very low, we recommend it!

We visited the place on our way back home from Porto Katsiki. It has a great view, the atmosphere is relaxing and the people are very welcoming. The menu comprises of four-five specials of the day and there are lots of local dishes to enjoy. We had the cod and pork souvlaki. The souvlaki was a satisfying portion with pitta and fries - very well cooked. The cod was also delicious although I thought it could have some veggies or fries on the side. It was served with a dip of skordalia which wasn't to my taste. Reasonably priced, lots of dishes to enjoy and a great view. We will visit again!

Ideal for a spot of people watching whilst enjoying a cold drink. We stopped here regularly as it came recommended and we were not disappointed. Friendly accommodating service and a wide bar menu from beers, cocktails and non alcoholic options for the kids (particularly the strawberry rush that proved itself very popular).
We also enjoyed a snack lunch on one occasion of baguettes, toasted sandwiches and burgers. The cheeseburger is much better that the generic photo in the board out front and the ice creams and crepes are excellent too.
Comfy seats, great views and excellent service and happy (4) hours to make it a good choice for a break.

We eat wholemeal bread, but found it difficult to buy good quality fresh bread outside Nidri's excellent bakery Commitos(spelling??) Sivota bakery provided a surprising variety of bread. Their wholemeal has a crispy crust and soft inside. It also lasted a couple of days, wrapped up in a yacht fridge. They also sold rather yummy moist marble cakes in foil tins - which lasted ( again in a yacht fridge) for several days. Mary Berry would be proud of them!!

Enjoy our traditional italian cuisine with great flavored pizza and pasta in a great sea view enviroment.
Very quiet on our 12th Oct 2017 evening visit, just us and four other tables in use, season ending fast this year with the Monarch debacle. Good wine, Pizza and Pasta, friendly service, Spiro talkative and fun. Liked the vibe and feel of the place, everyone else in the place seemed to be returning customers and friends of Spiro who appears to know everybody within 10 miles and beyond be they tourists or locals.
