Independente de sua religião, vale uma visita à Paróquia de Santo Antônio de Lisboa. Ela é muito bonita enquanto prédio e possui algumas imagens interessantes em seu entorno. Fica muito perto do centro de Tambaú.

Actually, there are not many places, choices or sites in Joao Pessoa or in its historical center which are worth to see. According to Wikipedia, there is one reference only regarding its history: "João Pessoa is the third oldest city in Brazil." But the Igreja Sao Francisco is among the few sites where you can cop a look on its past history. Unfortunately, other remnants of the old city have either disappeared or are in a lamentable condition (decay).

We used the restaurant Lovina ($5 reais to park) as a base and rented chairs and an umbrella on the beach. If you move a little away from the entrance to the beach you can avoid some of the crowds. Beach is lovely, water warm, gentle waves. At low tide, the water is shallow for many hundreds of feet out. At high tide the waves are stronger and at very high tide, the beach practically disappears. Just watch out for the jet skis (not very many) and paddle boarders when swimming.

Camboinha is a beach in the state of Paraiba just outside of the capitol of Joao Pessoa (it's located in the city of Cabedelo)--about 20 kilometers from JP. From there, they have boat excursions to the Areia Vermelha (red sands), which, at low tide, is a beach a few kilometers from the shore. At times you'll have the place to yourself, so stop by if you're in the area!

At last a place that sells goods made locally and not imported. Good t-shirts and ceramics...lots of quirky things and no pressure to buy.

The Nossa Senhora da Guia Church is located in Lucena, Paraiba, about one half hour's drive from Joao Pessoa, the state's capital. It was built around 1591 by Carmelite monks, and they say it has the largest altar made of limestone in all of Brazil.
It is still a working church, but is open for tourist visits. It also sits atop a cliff, giving a beautiful view of the Beaches of lucena below.
If you're in the Northeast of Brazil, its definitely worth a visit

Beautiful place with baroque architecture! Take the tour! It's really worth it! You can learn a lot of new things, and if you still have time, explore the place yourself! I absolutely loved the Northeast Brazil Culture Museum part.Really! Even though I'm not from the Northeast I've been living here for a long time and I love its rich and beautiful culture. Also I LOOOOOVED the Women's exhibition about the history of women in Brazil focusing on the northeast women. I just wish it was bigger, but it was a great surprise. If you're visiting João Pessoa you MUST come here!

One of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. The color of the water and the corals are awesome. The service is also good. You can take pictures under the water and to dive.

We went there twicw because it´s really nice. It is a bay with a wild beach on it´s corner, but this does not mean that wild is the same as clean, because you might step on a bottle while you walk on the send or worst, a piece of glass. never go barefoot disstracted. best bar is Dayanas.

The boat ride and time over there worths the 30-35 reais ticket. For someone is used with snorkelling dive it may bring nothing surprising but since it's very close to the cityband there is easy access even for children or eldery, it may be very fun for who never snorkelled.
