These wetlands are filled with birds of many species and there is a walking path as well as a bird blind for viewing them. The building that houses the individuals who over see the wetlands is historic and lovely. There are resources and videos available. A great day out in the Maremma.

The Multimedia Museum Visitor Center was carried out in the beautiful Casa Rossa Ximenes (iconic structure of Maremma’s Reclamation) designed in 1765 by the distinguished Jesuit mathematician Leonardo Ximenesby the Grand Duke of Tuscany, Pietro Leopoldo of Lorena’s will. Today’s Multimedia Museum, designed by the Physicist Paco Lanciano and his Mizar s.r.l., offers a tour in two sections developing each on the two Museum’s floors. The Nature Reserve Visitor Center was created as a reception for information, Reservations, Boat tours and educational activities departure point.
Actually, since the beach, the castle, the pine Forests, the villages and the wetlands are (connected to) outdoor activities, the Casa Rossa is the only real indoor attraction for visitors in Castiglione. The exhibition is as well documented as prepared and appeals to both adults and children. You can also take part in a short boat trip from the Casa Rossa in order to see the wetlands from the water perspective.

At the Capezzòlo beach you can find the best comfort, there is a good bar and a restaurant where every day to taste the fresh fish. Located outside the village provides peace of mind that is not easy to find anywhere.
We had a great day at the beach at Capezzolo. Two beds and an umbrella are quit expensieve (33€) but the beach is great! Also we had a really good lunch and the shower facilities are good.

We checked this beach out after we had read reviews from others on Tripadvisor and haven't been disappointed. In our view this is the nicest place between Follonica and Punta Ala. It is surrounded by huge pine trees and has nice straw covered umbrellas and good sun beds. The place is very clean and well maintained. The restaurant is good and there are plenty tables in the shadow. Unfortunately there are only two toilets, one for men and one for women so at peak times people are lining up. But it wasn't too bad, not even in high season. Also, we always found free umbrellas and sun beds, perhaps, that has to do with the price (ERU 30 for an umbrella and two sun beds) and because there are plenty of free Beaches to the right and left. Parking is close and overlooked by a very friendly guy. All those who rent umbrellas always get a guaranteed place in the shadow to park the car.

This is not so much about Bagno Castiglione as about Castiglione della Pescaia itself. Seeing as I live here I am sorely tempted to keep the good reviews to myself, but out of loyalty to fellow Tripadvisor travellers I will just say come and see for yourself. Castiglione is a small village (pop 7,000) for most of the year, but a booming seaside resort in July and August (pop 70,000 and up) so choose your timing carefully according to your tastes and budget, because prices skyrocket in high season. In the spring and autumn you can easily rent an apartment for four persons for about 50€ per day, and still benefit from some 15 kilometers of unspoilt Beaches, 30,000 hectares of woodland to hike or mountain bike in, a golf course or two and plenty of wind for kite Surfing, sailing. Of course, if you're a more peaceful nature you can just relax or go fishing.

The Bagno was excellent with super good atmosphere. We enjoyed the very beautiful and calm beach all day as a private beach only for the guests!!
They have a restaurant inside the bagno and dishes were super great!! We had pasta with a Vino!!
The owner and all the staff are super friendly and this is one of the reasons to make us feel to come back again!!
Among all the bagnos, this is the best one!!

Once you hike to the top of the hill, the view breaks open onto the castle and then you can see the town, the sea, blue skies and so much more. I started from along the sea so walked through the town, poked into boutiques and shops and enjoyed the long uphill walk all the way. It was not crowded so I enjoyed my time.
