This is our 2nd time in Fårup, and both times has been awesome! Top score to the staff, and to the variety in the park. Here's something fun for everyone to enjoy!
Last time we were in Fårup was summer of 2016, and that time we used a lot of time on the rides. This time around we're enjoying the treasurehunt and paddlingboats, train and buffet in addition to the rides. No stress - just enjoying just about everything:-)
We ate at the pizza and pasta buffet and the food was good. Nothing extraordnairy but given the fair price we paid we couldn't expect it to be. (380DKR for two adults and a 10 years old boy. It also included soda)

+ The Fårup-app
+ The friendly staff
The Fårup-app is actually a big plus, it makes it a lot easier to plan what rides to ride next.
NB!! We have not been to Aqualand, so this score is only the amusementpark.

We learned about this place by Reading the guidebook about the Northern Denmark, and decided to see it because of its unique and picturesque setting.
We traveled by car, and found our way very easy due to good road signs on the road nr 55.
The large parking is arranged by the road, there are toilets here as well. The entrance road to the Lighthouse is beginning from the parking, it is a gravel/sand road and there is some 1-1,5 km you need to walk to reach the seashore. Road has a slight elevation all the way, and the last 200-300 meters you need to manage a real climbing up the sand dunes to reach the remains of Lighthouse itself. In the time of our visit a strong wind appeared, and I experienced this climbing as hard with lots of sand in the air.
Lighthouse itself was built in 1899 some 200 meters from the waterline, but now the land it is standing by is disappearing by approaching sea and in some 10-15 years it is calculated to fall and the land it stands on to be consumed by sea.
There is not much left of the original Lighthouse, the mirrors on the top are still in place. It is allowed for now to climb the inner spiral stair to the top platform of the building, and views towards the sea, along the coast and to the ruins of abandoned village by the foot of the Lighthouse are stunning.
Wind on the shore was so strong that it could support a human to lie down and rest on it.

This is a must see if you enjoy untouched Historical Houses. I rate this with the Vanderbilt Biltmore House in Asheville, NC USA.This is a hidden Jewel but unfortunately if you have disabilities as my wife, this has very limited in accommodation. Hopefully they will provide better disability access in the future. People than can manage stairs are in for a real treat with great access to historical treasures from around the world. Venetian Glass pieces from Moreno , Italy are splendid. This is one of the best attractions of my vacation.

Borglum Kloster

Reviewed By lizdwhiz - Tustin, California

This kloster is historically significant both religiously and historically. This is a privately owned working farm, and relies on visitors for support. The church was built in 1290 and is both somber and inspiring. There is an herb garden from the time it was a monastery with information about healing herbs used at the time. Throughout the year, there are art exhibits on display as well as the original buildings available to tour. Stand in the central courtyard, look out over the countryside and imagine a day in the life of those who lived there..

Lindholm Hoeje Museum

The burial site of Lindholm Hoje is one of the most beautiful ancient monuments in Denmark from late Iron Age and the Viking Age. Several hundred stone circles indicate the tombs. In the museum, you can see an exhibition on the lives of the Vikings on Lindholm Hoje as well as a new exhibition on the ancient time in the land of the Limfjorden.

Two significant historical realities exist in this quiet place on the outskirts of Aalborg. First, there is the original Viking burial site in use for nearly 600 years from 400AD. The site was used as a cremation area and then a burial grounds for the remains. Most of these graves are surrounded by stones laid in various shapes. Quite an impressive sight.
Second, this area had been covered by years of layers of shifting sand and not until 1952 was it excavated. Luckily, it was not lost forever, An amazing discovery.
The museum is also worth a stop. The exhibition shows what the village and their inhabitants looked like over the ages. The gift shop is also very nice.

Hals harbor is not the most exciting harbor I've been to, as there is not much to see. It has four og five places to eat and some ok places for an ice-cream. But, unfortunately there isn't much to do right in the harbor. You could always have a look at the boats though.....

Saltum Kirke

I passed by it on the bike and I felt like in one of those travel documentaries where you see something and say was! beautiful, and stop the bike just to have a look and take a picture. The sky was blue and the white colour (non-color) of the church resembled the white big clouds. And everything was green around.
I would definitely recommend to pass by it if you are biking in the area. It's a charming countryside!

Lokken Beach

We visited at the beginning of August whilst staying locally at a friends beach hut.
The beach is amazingly clean, the sand lovely and clean and perfect for sandcastle building. The water is good for paddling and bathing and you can even drive your car down onto the sand.
A lovely clean and quiet area to enjoy the Danish seaside - there are changing rooms just up at the cafe and bins there too.
Highly recommend if you're in the area.

Dronninglund Kirke
