This museum not so well known as of now sprang a huge surprise for us. Amazingly beautiful, very well maintained, this museum can compete to be classified as a World Class Museum. Hats off to designers, museum is neatly organised, with audio visual support. Lovely Gardens sourround the museum which has many tribal huts/dwellings created for visitors to experience living style of various tribes from Odisha. The museum staff are also very nice and well behaved. Hats off to Government of Odisha for this creation. Please ensure it's upkeep and promote this place to tourists and even locals.

This is the biggest temple of Bhubeswar and was built in the 10th century. The place has no entry free, and no active worhip is conducted here. The atmosphere is charged with history-and wandering inside one can feel it. There is a pool with black fish at the back- but here since the entry is unguarded we were unhappy to find people smoking and putting their feet in the water. we do need to keep such places clean!

The city's most famous landmark.
Lingaraja Temple in Bhubaneshwar, was a lovely experience for us....Although the pandas in the Temple create little problem, otherwise the place is so peaceful....Had lots of other temples inside the premises apart from the main temple....We loved it....Highly recommended....

Situated on a small hill very close to Bhubaneshwar this place is very beautiful and has significant historical importance. On top of the hill is a circular Buddhist Temple with Buddha Bhagawan at the top. This would be nice detour while travelling to Konarak/Puri from Bhubaneshwar

I think it is the best place to visit if you want to know about the history, culture, and geology of the Odisha state. Inside the museum it has several sections displaying great collections of artifacts in categories like: archaeology, anthropology, geology, mining, handicrafts, natural history, literature etc.
Opening time of the museum is 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM all days of the week (except Monday)

Most Memorable Year end trip to Odisha during Dec'17 !!
On 22nd Dec'17, got to visit Dhauligiri Shanti stupa spotted on the Dhaulagiri Hill top. It was constructed by the Japan Buddha Sangha and the Kalinga Nippon Buddha Sangha during the year 1972.
Stupa is domed on top with mushroom-like structures and adorned with 'speaking' stone panels. Reclining Buddha, an elephant procession, the bodhi tree and footprints of Buddha bearing the chakra (wheel) adorn the main stone panels. Lord Shiva temple & Lakshmi Narayana temple is available near by and the Pandas inside the temple keep demanding money from the tourists, hence be careful with those pandas.

Udaygiri is a small hillock close to bhubaneshwar city which contains several caves with plenty of rock carvings of various images dating back to over 1000 years. This place therefore has a rich historical value. Very well maintained by the authorities, this place is a place of tourist interest. A must visit for tourists to Odisha. Kandhagiri caves are located just opposite on the other side of the road.
