My wife and I each got to fly on Olivier's paraglider. He was very professional, patient with our questions and instructive. He put us both at ease and in confidence. His flying was smooth yet sharp. We highly recommend his coastline tour. The view was breath-taking. Merci beaucoup!

We spent a good hour at this producer and shop of the "famous" Piment d'Espelette. It was entertaining, informative and a nice degustation. All is well presented and the people very friendly (hopefully, it is after all their business). We enjoyed it and can recommend the visit there.

It’s an expansive beach with hard packed sand and magnificent rock formations that run the length of the shoreline. Whether you want to sun, stroll, surf, or walk along taking an endless number of scenic photographs, this beach is not to be missed.

Historic Center of Hondarribia

Reviewed By Craig M - Bermuda

Hondarribia is known for the high quality of its Basque gastronomy. But we weren’t there for the food. We wanted to visit the walled old town. Archeaologists have concluded that people have been living in the vicinity of the old town for 5,000 years. The old town includes a 10th century castle and the medieval wall that surrounds the town dates to the 15th century. When you walk through one of the gates in the wall, you really get the feeling that you’ve stepped back in time. The cobbled streets, the narrow lanes and the tall houses with carved wooden balconies all hark back to a bygone era. The atmosphere is helped by the fact that there are very few vehicles inside the walls. And no tourist shops!
We entered the old town by crossing a high bridge, through an old gate in the wall. An impressive introduction!
Some of the lanes in the old town are so narrow, that I don’t imagine that they get any sunlight during the day. It’s a lovely place to visit.

Lots of people sheltering from the rain but what a beautiful place to do so. Steeped in history and the 3 tiered galleries for men only were most unusual. Ramp to the side of the church made it easily accessible in my wheelchair

Villa Arnaga

The author of Cyrano de Bergerac created a sumptuous theatrical decor for his dream home. The charming French and English Gardens delight the visitor with their romantic walks. A veritable «poem in stone and vegetation», the Villa Arnaga has to be explored or reexplored :In 2014, you'll have the opportunity to admire the renewed Gardens similar to the ones imagined by Edmond Rostand with their box wood embroideries, their topiary bushes, their plant vases, their mirror like pools. The "poets' corner " will surprise you with its lattice work. In a word a typical French garden with its perfectly geometrical design !Open daily from April 1 to November 3. The Villa, the home of the author of Cyrano de Bergerac, is a charming Labourd style villa, elegant inside with a mixed sophistication of Paris at the time and local style. There are written guides in each room in several languages (including English) that help explain the villa, and the family. The Gardens, French formal, and English are lovely. A charming , if not ancient site, in the lovely countryside

We visited La Verna in July accompanied by our guide Marcus who was enthusiastic, informative and spoke excellent English. The cave was astounding - not somewhere that 'Joe Public' like us would normally have the privilege to see. We cannot recommend it enough , the one hour tour was for all ages and abilities but we would love to visit again and do a longer more explorative tour. GO AND SEE IT! (Wear warm clothes).

Pyrenean Experience

Our beautiful Basque mountain farmhouse, near the Baztan Valley, (less than an hour from San Sebastian and Pamplona) lies at the centre of 200km of walking and hiking routes, straight from the farmhouse door. For the past 18 years we have run house-parties for walkers (and linguists) from all over the world which combine themed self-guided/guided walks on Basque gastronomy, mountain culture and pagan traditions. We ALSO specialise in total immersion Spanish language house parties for adult learners of Spanish. Our farmhouse has just 5 en-suite guest rooms and all our holidays are small-scale offering the benefit of our personal experience. Out of season guests can join us on a B & B basis. We look forward to meeting you! Georgina, Inaki and Marion.

I recently returned from the spanish immersion/walking week and can honestly say it was a well planned, relaxing, friendly and thoroughly enjoyable way to improve your spanish. Walking daily in the stunning Basque countryside from Georgina's cosy farmhouse and experiencing the local culture was really interesting. Begonia's cooking in the evening was always a treat and Iñaki's spanish lessons were informative and fun. The free day midweek gives you a chance to explore further afield and take a breather from walking and talking, if you want. I think the website description is really accurate and would highly recommend the experience to spanish learners.

Passerelle d'Holzarte

HOLTZEARTE
This is one of the most beautiful places to visit in THE SOULE . This is a pretty trail but not easy. It is suitable for people whose ability to walk was fine. It is recommended to come up with good walking shoes and those with back or knee problems use walking sticks.
Come to Logibar road D26 . There you leave the vehicle there is a restaurant and toilet. Go toward the little bridge and turn left to the beginning of track to the hanging bridge. Walking trail begins with a very steep climb in some parts built from rocks including water flow. Be careful not to slip. There is along the cliff some railing to hold. It's more comfortable holding on it going uphill than downhill so I recommend walking. It increases steeply and consists of walking over rocks and stones, and you should do it carefully. The walk in this segment is approximately 30 minutes. At least. Then come to the less steep and more comfortable for walking and is within target. Here you are walking on land, not on a rock. After another 10 minutes you reach a place worthy- the bridge and it looks spectacular. You can say that walking takes between 40 and 50 minutes each direction depending on fitness. A magnificent place and you should not miss it. Going up recommended to be careful not to slip
About the weather - luckily to us it was 24 degrees and we performed the track at 1400 in the afternoon. If the weather will be warm (should have been 32 degrees that day and luckily it did not happen), I highly recommend doing this route or early morning or late in the day from 1700 onward. On a hot day it will be hell and even dangerous. To have a sufficient amount of water with you as there are no drinking water along the route, and go carefully because there is no warning facilities in case of a problem.
It's an amazing place. Do not miss out. If you will come prepared you will experience fun and unusual experience and a spectacular nature site
