Viñas del Vero is one of the biggest wine-cellars in Somontano region (near Barbastro, in Huesca) and the name means River Vero vineyards. In the guided visit, you can see two wine-cellars, Viñas del Vero cellar and Blecua cellars (it is a little cellar, which was bought by Viñas del Vero some years ago and this vineyards produced the best quality wine of Viñas del Vero). The visit was very interesting and you can see all parts of the cellar. Moreover, we visited it at the end of August, when the harvest is doing and you can smell the young wine (or the must). At the end we can tasted 3 wines: a white one (Gewürztraminer), another white one (Se Castilla) and a red one (Syrah), which were very good. A very interesting visit of two cellars

Luis Postigo runs a small place but with a big selection - there are at least 16 wines available by the glass with lovely little snacks to match. Not only is he friendly, but so are his customers and we ended up chatting with a few. We tried a few rosés, all of which we enjoyed and would have stayed longer but he closes at 1:30 pm (or so) and reopens later near 5:00 pm. He specializes in regional flavours and knows what he is doing. Can't wait to return.....

Bodega LAUS

In natural surroundings at the foot of the mountains: Laus and Somontano. Wine tourism. Walking among vineyards looking towards the Pyrenees is the best way to gain an understanding of the natural philosophy of Laus wines. Our winery is less than an kilometre from Barbastro, in the heart of Somontano and its wine route, and it looks the Carrodilla and Guara ranges and the monastery of Pueyo straight in the eye. That makes a walk among its modern, zen-style facilities, perfectly integrated into their surroundings, a complete wine tourism experience, never losing sight of what is most important for making Laus wines: the earth.

I'm sure this seems very worthy to the people who have accumulated this stuff but it didn't seem especially interesting - you can find similar stuff in almost any junk shop - and it wasn't displayed in an imaginative way which might have enhanced our understanding of rural life in former times. The experience was not enhanced by all the descriptions being only in Spanish.
