Chamonix Mont-Blanc Helicopteres

This was amazing, need I say more!!!
The staff were friendly and very experienced (over 20 years flying this mountain range), with good English translation.
This was a last minute booking and CMBH were more than accommodating.
We took the 30 Minute flight up to 4807m
The morning started cloudy but this added to the spectacular experience we will never forget, it defiantly rivals the Grand Canyon.
The perfect ending to a beautiful stay in the alps.

Great ski hire store for quick and easy access to hire skis, boots and much more mountain equipment. Staff are friendly and helpful and skis are well looked after and are of outstanding quality. Would greatly recommend as prices are affordable. I would advise anybody seeking skis to visit.

VerticAlp Emosson

In the heart of Espace Mont-Blanc, midway between Chamonix (F) and Martigny (CH), VerticAlp Emosson offers you a spectacular and unforgettable experience. Three unique rail systems take you to the amazing natural site of Emosson at an altitude of 1,965 m, facing the magnificent Panorama of the legendary Mont-Blanc.

We started our excursion at the Châtelard (1125m) by riding the funicular with its impressive 87% slope to reach the Montuires (1825m) where we took the mini train to the minifunic that brought us up to the Emosson dam (1965m). All working there were extremely welcoming and helpful. We went up there with our toddler. We did not take the stroller but it would have been totally feasible to take one with us as there were not too many people.
Highly recommended excursion!

Telecabine Le Tour Col de Balme

ENJOY THE PASTURES ! Bordering Switzerland, this alpine domain takes advantage of vast high mountain pastures, among the last ones in the valley still being exploited. It is also the ideal domain for mountain biking.

I see this as a great resort for newer skiers who need gentler runs to get started. For advanced skiers, the resort offers plenty of off piste options not only in France but into Switzerland. Very versatile from that perspective. Didn't really eat on mountain although had a great experience at the Cafe Comptoir down in Vallorcine. Vormaine ski area is the best option in the valley for beginners. Olympic hotel at the base has good food. Great little resort.

Mont Blanc

A towering mountain range on the Italian border, the highest peak of which measures nearly 16,000 feet, making it the second highest mountain in Europe.

Truly remarkable. From the tunnel to the town to the mountain, everything is amazing. Well designed to ensure visitors are safe and can appreciate the views. Well worth the excursion even if you only have a few hours.
Two tips
1. The weather at the top is NOT as cold as you would expect. It did not feel like -22. Dress warm but don’t obsess.
2. Don’t assume the wether at the top based upon the weather at the base. The summit is above the cloud line so the views are amazing. Our visit had significant clouds at 2-3000m. It only added to the view from 3,800m.

Refuge Albert 1er

This is the first place I have been to in France where all staff speak really good English! But more importantly they are also very helpful and skilled at making/serving fantastic food (even vegetarien meal was no problem) and keeping the place nice and clean. The only bad is the ventilation in the dorms; a common problem but one that could be fixed. It's very hard to sleep in a room with 10 people and insofficient ventilation.
The views are of course spectacular!

Aiguille du Midi

From Chamonix (1035m), fly over the forest to reach le Plan de l’Aiguille in 10 minutes (2317m). On your right, the Glacier des Bossons, in front of you the Mont-Blanc (4810m), on your left the Aiguille Verte, the Drus and the Aiguilles de Chamonix. Then take a second cable car which, in just 10 minutes takes you up to 3777m, over the seracs, the glacier des Pelerins and the hanging glaciers on the north face of the Aiguille du Midi. . From the top, a sightseeing Panorama unique in the world. Experience a very high altitude.

Lac Blanc

Reviewed By Dax892 - Bryan, Texas

We had been told this is an "easy, family hike." Not quite: more than an hour-and-a-half up-and-down scramble over boulders and around rocks. We're in decent enough shape, but especially with the altitude, it was still difficult, and we were worried we would slip on a rock and sprain an ankle, or worse. The lake, while pretty enough, just isn't worth it, in my opinion. A better idea? Go part of the way there and just enjoy the views. And take lots of water and suncreen! There is really no shade to be found. Or, just ride the chairlift up to the trailhead and call yourself done! For us, that was the best part anyway.

Fubar

Fubar is located right next to Grands Montets lift station in Argentiere making it the ideal place for Apres-Ski, offering live music and great happy hour deals throughout the evening. So come and enjoy our amazing promos while riding our famous rodeo bull (not for the faint hearted!) or chilling around a game of pool or babyfoot.

We stayed in the UCPA and Fubar was one of the closest bars. The staff were really accommodating and friendly which definitely added to our trip.
They hosted a bar Olympics night for us which was great and provided the winners free beer.
Thanks again to P and the rest of the staff for having us! Would definitely go again!

Namaste sport was recommended to us by Gary at Valley Fever. They normally close for lunch 12 noon to 3.30pm, however they stayed open for us on the day of our arrival so that we could hit the slopes the same afternoon.
I hired snowboard boots and an intermediate board and liked it so much that I bought the board after using it for a week. They even re-waxed it and didn't charge me for the week's hire so it really did seem like a bargain!
We stayed at Chalet Falcon which is just 100 meters down the road so it was super convenient and our group also received a 20% Vally Fever discount so it really was a no brainer :)
