After a lovely day in Zierikzee we wanted to eat the famous Oosterschelde lobster of course and a captain of a boattrip we made on the Oosterschelde told us that Maritime was the place to have the delicious lobster. They serve this lobster cooked or grilled and we took the grilled one: a fingerlicking experience! And a very huge lobster, the pincers were larger than our hands. One lobster for two with asparagus and pasta in tomato sauce, but really enough to eat. No need of an entrée. Will come back to try the cooked version and won't eat lobsters again that aren't from the Oosterschelde, because they are the best and cost the same as a Canadian one.

Booked a table here for an evening meal as recommend by our local Dutch friends. We found the food excellent with all on offer made from fresh locally sourced / in season ingredients, hence unlike some other restaurants no mussels available at this time of year. Our friendly waitress was able to explain the sourcing and ingredients of the dishes in both Dutch and English and visited the table a couple of times to confirm our satisfaction with our order. Many thanks to her and the unseen chef in the kitchen for our very pleasant evening dining at De Beuze.
The De Beuze offers a number of fixed price menus and these do cover a good range of choices at very good prices but have no fear if ordering from the main menu at one or two euro more you will very much enjoy the experience of their food and all at very competitive prices.
As frequent visitors to Zierikzee we obviously like to try different restaurants but we now know that we'll always be dining at the De Beuze when we visit.

When visiting Zeeland, this is one of the best stop for fresh mussels. Nice Terrace on the atmospheric city square of Zierikzee. You get the mussels on your table in a large bucket (quite original) and they are well prepared with fresh vegetables, chilli pepers, etc. The side dishes are so-so (small portions and simple salad), but I will come back for the sea food itself! Friendly staff, good selection of wines.

We finished our family holidays with a nice dinner at this restaurant de Werf in Zierikzee which has been a former sawmill next to the harbour. They turned it into a restaurant with an Italian orientated kitchen although they also serve local dishes. They even have a floating Terrace inside the harbour. The views are nice because you can see the Noord-Haven Poort which is beautiful. We had dinner on the first floor and ordered scampis (gambas out of the oven), ham and chicken salad as starters which were very tasty. The red wine from Italy was also very good with a fresh and fruity taste. The main dishes we ordered were tenderloin steak, round steak and cod fillet. All of them were very nice. The desserts were homemade tiramisú and icecake. Besides the kitchen had no problems in adapting the menu to gluten free food. Very helpful and a very good service. We will be back for sure.

We stopped by the beautiful city of Zierikzee and decided to stop at this place for a quick lunch. The menu is varied and offers large choice of dishes for lunch or snacks. The value for money is OK and prices are more affordable that other places in Zierikzee. The food is of good quality and the display on the plate is nice and class. The quantity gives you an extra return on your value for money. The staff may have been a bit more friendly and consider our poor Dutch skills but they were helpful. The restaurant is very well decorated. I also pay a lot of attention to have clean toilets and the ones of this place were outstandingly clean. I recommend this address if you pass by the beautiful and typical city of Zierikzee.

The mussels and fish were lovely. The side dishes weren't so good (undercooked fries and so-so vegetables). There was plenty to choose from on the menu and if you do like mussels then you can have them served 3 ways. There are also different types of fish and the server can recommend based on what you say you like.
They have all kinds of wines by the glass including Champagne (at a reasonable price) and a very nice Pouilly Fume which I recommend, plus 2 dessert wines. And you can get a big jug of iced tap water too if you want.
The portion sizes are big and the service is pretty good. We sat inside because it was nice and cool and because outside was too smoky. If we were in the area I would be happy to eat here again.
Oh, and have the eskimo pie, it's DELICIOUS!!

We stumbled across this restraurant.....we were looking for somewhere to park! It's an unusual but very sensible concept: there is a menus with a nine choices.....you can have one...or you can have all of them..priced T €9.90 each. A little bigger than a starter but not as big as a main course the menu offered a tempting array of dishes. We were given a little pre dish of tomato, goats cheese and samphire......not as straightforward as it sounds, but I won't spoil the surprise. The bread was fresh and delicious, we were offered refills. We had two dishes each, I had the cod with Jerusalem Artichoke and pickled cucumber...what a combination! My second dish was poached beef with pasta, bolognese sauce and a basil cream....yummy. My husband had duck confit with radish, fondant potato and samphire. He followed it with veal, asparagus, broad beans and cous cous.....all delicious. We skipped the desert and had coffee with some small pieces of delicious cake. The other courses consisted of carpaccio, mackerel, sardine, tuna and a water melon andBacardi dessert. With three glasses of Cava and a bottle of water it was €65..... Delicious and a bargain. Wonderful presentation really made these dishes delightful, service was very professional, with a really nice ambiance in the restaurant. A real pleasure.....and on our first night in Zeeland....we look forward to more delights!

A great little restaurant which was absolutely full on saturday evening. They managed to fit us in on a fully booked night, which was really awesome! Food was simply great (lacked some salt though, and tables didn't have any..) and service was the same. Would definitely go back!

These guys specialise in Thai meals in the evenings, it is a set menu, but they use good quality ingredients. You get a really friendly reception and they make sure you are happy with the proposed menu before you sit down. It was good value at around 17 Euros for 3 courses. Quite busy on a Saturday evening, so if you have your heart set on a Thai meal, it might be better to book.
