This restaurant is an absolute must in Beverwijk. Friendly ambience and staff.
The menu is regularly changing and the pricing is always very moderate, nice wines and good draft beers.
We go there with the whole family and always enjoy it.
During the weeknd hoewever reserving a table is an absolute must as it is always packed.

The restaurant is serving well prepared dishes, in a number of courses. All dishes are generally prepared very well. Staff is able to present some nice matching wines with the menu, which makes it even more interesting. Food is right quality/quantity/price level. As restaurants go in the Ijmuiden area, this is definitely one of the best.

We arrived late to the Ijmuiden Holiday Inn (9.30pm) and hadn't made any dinner arrangements. We didn't fancy eating in the hotel so telephoned the restaurant who said that they were closing at 10pm but would squeeze us in if we went straight over. They welcomed us on arrival and we never felt like they were trying to rush us, despite the fact that they had closed.
I've been there a number of times before, but it has been refurbished since my last visit - it looks fantastic. They've done a great job of the refurbishment - the food seems even nicer too!!
We had a mixed starter plate - which was absolutely awesome. A wide variety of very good food - good quality and well cooked.
For main I had Sczechuan King Prawns and Plain noodles. Fantastically tasty, with a good size portion.
Some good chinese beer on draught too!
The service was very good - the lady was very entertaining!
The price point was about right - neither cheap / nor overly expensive.
Will definitely go back next time I stay at the Holiday Inn - it's a bit out of the way to travel there from Haarlem or Wijk Aan Zee.

Welcome to the seafood Restaurant De Meerplaats. The restaurant is located right on the lively fishing port of Ijmuiden and has been around since 1970. The current owner William Brands sways the scepter since 1993. He introduced the three-course menu which has become an absolute hit. For just € 34.50 you get a choice of starters, main courses and desserts. Combine for a great price! The extensive wine list has been compiled in consultation with renowned Wine Importer Okhuysen. Our fish comes fresh from fishmongers Molenaar every day. Families or large groups are no problem, but also an intimate dinner for two is possible. We do have an English menu, so tourists can easily order the most delicious meals prepared by our chef Fred Nieswaag. From Monday until Sunday we also serve lunch, but then you can also choose from all the courts of the menu! Restaurant De Meerplaats is open seven days a week: – Sunday until friday from 12:00 midday to 21:30 hour – Saterday from 16:00 hour
We found the place by accident. Good fresh food. Very fish based but what it does it does well. I had the salmon with garlic sauce and hubby the cod. The cod had nicely seasoned batter. Chips, roast potatoes and salad came with the meals.
The service was good.
The outside could do with a brush up and clean but once inside it's very posh.

Great service with good local cuisine/ seafood on the menu. Had a dinner there and thoroughly enjoyed the experience and food served. Overall well recommended especially when already at Ijmuiden.

If you happen to end up in Ijmuiden, this is a nice restaurant. The food is mainly seafood and of good quality, with very sizeable portions. The setting is nice with plenty of space for bigger groups. If the weather is nice it got some good spaces outside.
The service was very friendly and attentive, all in all a very enjoyable experience.

Very slow service. We ordered the cheese fondue and it came with boiled vegetables (and bread) to dip - rather odd. The fondue was not very flavorful. In all, a disappointment.

If you are looking for service and nice, tasty food, this place can definitely be recommended. Pizza and pasta are great, just the meat dishes need some makeover (my boyfriend once chose Bistecca alla Griglia, entrecote from the grill, and was major disappointed, the beef was more than well done. Complaints towards the kitchen were not taken seriously.)
Anyway, for pizza, pasta and salad a great place to go.

Het Zandhuis is located on the boulevard of the IJmuider Beach and has a great view on the Seaport Marina. We (Herman Koster and Petra van der Linde) do our best to make you feel at home and hope you don´t feel like a number, but an actual person. Our main philosophy is that you should have a good and relaxed time while having a drink and a bite.We hope that if you´ve visited us, you´ll let us know what your experience was so we can keep improving ourselves. So whenever you´re in the neighbourhood, feel free to drop by!Best wishes,Herman and Petra
I shall miss Het Zandhuis for the good food, convivial atmosphere but most of all mine hosts....Herman & Petra. It's been like walking into my local for the last 2 1/2 yrs, food available if needed, a beer or cold glass of Sauvignon blanc but importantly, the welcome you get from each and every one of the team there. All hail to my surrogate dad, mum & sister...

This restaurant in Wijk aan Zee is a great place to end a day at the beach, or to leave Amsterdam and just go to Wijk aan Zee only for dinner at Het zomerhuis. :-)
The decor is very Brocante and therefore feels very casual and homely.
The waiting staff is very kind, patient and attentive, not rushing you nor making you wait unbearably long.
The food is simple, with which I mean no fancy French plate with little food and lots of fuss. It is really well prepared, plenty, but not plentyfull and just simply very well tasting!
There are enough choices, so something for everyone.
The only downside, though they do offer highchairs, there are no kids meals or is there a changing table available in the restrooms. Handing out an extra plate, extra fries and apple compote for the toddler, was no problem and came at no extra charge.
This little gem is celebrating it's 10th anniversary this year and I understand why. Good food, good service at decent prices. They can go for another 10 years, easily!
