The service was excellent. The charming maitre'd/waitress called the chef to translate the menu for us. He voluntarily went through the whole thing in a very pleasant unhurried manner - so unusual! Lovely interior, comfortable, small fire in open fireplace set into the wall. Small bowl of barley soup delicious. Could not find any plain fresh potato dish on the menu- if you're a fan of polenta this is the place for you. Prompt friendly service. Wines and food pricey. Smallish portions. Tender lamb chunks with an unremarkable sauce/gravy and potato dish, both oversalted (salt can be added at the table but not removed!) Very small but delicious vegetable portions, especially the spinach. If you can put a value on congeniality and hospitality, it's 5+; strictly value for money on what we were served 3.

Recommend reserving in advance, as popular by the locals and now know why! (always a good sign) The food was fabulous and much to choose from. The 3 course set menu offered great options at reasonable prices 29 - 49 CHF (vegetarian choices too)
Friendly staff which made our last night stay in Ardez memorable.

Simple yet tasty grilled meat accompanied by aromatic polenta slowly steaming in a huge pot in front of the kitchen. Magic setting on the lake shore near Ponte delle Capre, perhaps the most beautiful corner on Lago di Livigno.

Gastronomy is a study of the relationship between culture and food and related to the fine art of dishes; excellent menus in La Calcheira, fine gastronomy and natural sciences in terms of the digestive system of our human body; feel you fine after dinner and enjoy a special moment .

Guarda is a lovely village, and dining al fresco on the Terrace at Hotel Meisser, overlooking the valley on a sunny afternoon, was a highlight of our visit to the Engadine. Service was prompt and the food selections, especially the traditional dishes we had, were very good. It all comes at a price, of course, but for many visitors it is well worth it.

Visited this restaurant when we were staying, next door, at the Hotel Crusch Alba. A quirky Seating area at the entrance, with seats that are covered in cowhide style fabric. Very friendly and pleasant service. Decor was very modern and clean, a mix of wood and granite. Beautiful views to the Mountains (in clear weather!). Pizzas were excellent, in fact, my husband declared his calzone to be the best calzone he'd ever eaten. A nice selection of grappas too. Would definitely recommend and eat here again

At the Gourmet Restaurant VIVANDA you will be treated to an exclusive surprise, degustation menu in the evening. Dario Cadonau has learnt his passion – cooking - from top chefs. He cooked with Daniel Bumann at the Chesa Pirani in La Punt (18 points and 2 stars), with Philip Rochat in Crissier (19 points and 3 stars) and with Harald Wohlfahrt at the Traube, Tonbach (19 points and 3 stars). You can select the wine to go with your gourmet meal yourself in the vaulted cellar or choose from the wine list. The open fire, many candles and the personal service will provide you with an unforgettable experience.
We LOVED this restaurant! The young owners / chef made us enjoy an incredible gourmet evening.
The food has been incredibly creative and delicious. The ambience and service have been phenomenal. The dinner experience is not cheap (CHF 190 per person) - but definitely justified by the quality of the offering. Wine list is very fair, we had the excellent Bordeaux by the glass, which was a great choice. Bring time and appetite!

During a three night stay in Zernez we ate twice at the Baer und Post. There were lots of interesting dishes to choose from on the menu, both for meat eaters and vegetarians. The main courses - including risotto and "capuns" (a kind of dumpling wrapped in cabbage leaves) - were very tasty and we also sampled some yummy desserts. The waitresses were efficient and friendly, finding English menus when we realized the limitations of our German and Romantsch! Thus, like many other reviewers, we were very satisfied. There seemed to be lots of happy diners too, so Reservations are needed.

The IN-LAIN Restaurant für tasty fondues Not the latest food fashion, but certainly unique: the Restaurant Käserei at the IN LAIN Hotel Cadonau. Delicious fondue variations fish and meet specialities can be enjoyed in the showcase cheese dairy. Have your meal while watching the cheese-making process in the most beautiful showcase cheese dairy in the world. If the fancy takes you, you can take turns stirring the cheese and get valuable advice about good cheese. IN-LAIN cheese can be bought at the in-house shop - an ideal gift for friends and family at home or for those who have fallen for this fine cheese.
I went there with some friends last week and we had some of theyr different kind of fondues. I had the champagne variant which had a really special taste. Bit too liquid though not viscous enough.
The bread which you dipped in the cheese was slightly toasted which is a nice unexpected touch. Service was corteus the whole time no problem at all. Would definetly reccomend this restaurant for groups or for a romantic dinner.
