Villavicencio is a hub for cattle farming, and the area abounds with cowboys. You could stay on a ranch for a night or two before moseying off to the more oft-visited grassland plains of Los Llanos. If you care to stay awhile, Villavicencio has plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities and eco-tourism. Don’t miss the Caño Cristales, a beautifully multi-colored river filled with vibrant plants and minerals that’s appropriately nicknamed “The Liquid Rainbow.”

Ranchon del Maporal - Restaurante Rumba Bar Buscanos por google maps y twitter pipemaporal Maporal_
I went with my family as I had read good comments here on Tripadvisor.
Thres of us picked "Tipico llanero" which comes with beef and pork tenderloin, hayacas, potatos and salad.
Beef and pork were overcooked so they were so hard, potato was undercooked so it was hard as well.
Service was not great

Seafood Restaurant with excellent food, menu and prices.
Visited Frutos Del Mar at their new location between Unicentro and LlanoCentro. Its a very large, open dining area overlooking the main avenue in Villavicencio. The atmosphere is good and the traffic noise was not an issue on a Sunday afternoon. The prices are a little high but the quality of food was great. My parillada (grilled seafood platter) was delicious although the bottom was a little over done. My girlfriends seafood casserole was excellent. Both dishes had plenty of seafood and the flavors were perfect. The portion was more than adequate and it was served with a salad and patacones (large fried plantain chips) The service was fast and friendly. The price for the two lunches and two sodas was about $80,000 COP.

The pizza here is really great but the wait is something they need to work with. We ordered two of the largest pizzas they offered at a decent price and it was all very tasty. If you're looking for good fast good, I highly recommend this place

we got here as suggested by a hotel staff member. the place is outdoors, under a hut, so there is no a/c, and it is hot!!!!! having said that, the whole fried fish (mojarra) was great! so were the meat dishes. a man came by selling avocadoes to have at the table and they were good too. fast service, clean bathrooms, great stop

Los domingo el horario en Trapiche es hasta las 5:30 pm y en Unicentro hasta las 9:00 pm
Great flavors and a nice selection of different dishes. Everything from the pizza to the salads and seafood dishes are just excellent. They have a nice, light, yet very flavorful tomato sauce and their chicken caesar salad is one of my favorites. They also offer an air conditioned dining area. The staff is very friendly and attentive, which unfortunately isn't always the case in many restaurants.

the restaurant was recommended by a friend, and so our party of 22 arrived. lots of children. the menu is a bit limited, but well balanced. the arepas were great, so was the chicken for the kids, the tenderloin was good (big) , the salad bar is small, but everything super fresh. our waiter was very nice and did the very best he could with our party of 22. definately worth coming back.

I love the chuzo mixto (mixed skewer) that is made of llanera (slow cooked/smoked beef) and pork. You better get there not too late or llanera will run out.
Amarillo a la monseñor is another good option (kind of cat fish soup with sea food) specially if you want to sweat while eating.
For drinking nothing better that a jar of citrica (local lemonade)
Joropo dancers will bring you a taste of llano music and dancing (flatlands) to your table
I just drop one star because sometimes it is really crowded.

This restaurant deserves to be rated as number one in Villavicencio. They source their meat from local Braham cattle. Consequently, the roasted meat and chicken was delicious, and cooked to perfection. I especially liked the Punta de Anca, which was juicy and full of flavour. There is also an excellent salad bar with a varied choice, the roasted tomatoes were delicious. The staff were very helpful and attentive. I would highly recommend eating at this restaurant.
