Spotted this restaurant after eating elsewhere, it was busy and the food looked great. We went there the following night and had an excellent meal. Good food, good service and good value. Very popular spot. They even had some Aperol, much to my wife's delight.

Chef Gilles André is a Maître Restaurateur with honourable mentions in both Gault & Millau and Michelin so we had great expectations. Unfortunately we were slightly disappointed.
Le Valentino is set in a little courtyard off the rue Paillot de Montabert with its crooked half timbered houses, and tables are set out on the cobbles in summer. Mid-April was a bit chilly for that and we were seated in a small room with about 8 tables looking out over a rather less exciting view at the back. There were three paintings on the wall facing me, and unfortunately their support hangings seemed to have slipped so they were all crooked and one was almost down at table height - I found them rather distracting and it struck me as odd that they had not been rehung properly in a place such as this. There were also very naff table decorations in the form of a log with assorted birds eggs balanced along the length. We were there a few days before Easter, so I don’t know if this was a sophisticated joke that I slightly missed. Perhaps Gilles and his wife have a drôle sense of humour.
We chose the 38€ menu and both had roasted gambas with a cauliflower declination, Serrano ham and saffron broth as entrées. The prawns seemed to us to be slightly over-cooked, certainly not as tasty as we would expect, and the Bouillon was very salty.
My wife chose saddle of rabbit with bacon, butternut squash, and pumpkin and hazelnut purée. She thought it excellent, other than the rather random cubes of squash. I went for deer steak with blackcurrants, turnip mash and winter vegetables. The meat was superbly cooked. The blackcurrant sauce was rather fierce, but that was OK as I generally prefer that to very subtle tones which are the norm in French cuisine. However I found it conflicted rather with the bitter earthy taste of the turnip mash. There was an assortment of other small odds and ends of winter vegetables - a couple of small green leafs, a halved radish, a couple of pieces of carrot; a lot of work had gone into it but I was left slightly unconvinced. On the other hand a chap at the next table had the same dish and obviously enjoyed it thoroughly as he virtually licked his plate clean.
We both finished with a dacquoise with citrus fruits, pistachio and lemon cream, Opaline and mandarin sorbet.
There is a good wine list with several half bottles, and I chose a Chassagne Montrachet which went well with our mains. Coffee has its own menu, a choice of perhaps 8-10 beans from plantations in different countries. We chose a smooth one from Costa Rica and a more robust style from Guatamala, but I have to admit that ignorance meant we had to rely on the descriptive notes to make our choice.
Each plate was a treat for the eyes. Overall there was some extremely good cooking on display, but we did find a slight lack of balance here and there.

Going there for 6 years already, this is from far the best gastronomic restaurant over France.
Quality service with very humble chef who loves his products, we really enjoy this time at O des Lys like a pure pleasure for your eyes, your tong and your stomac :):)
To do again and again and again !!

We walked around a wet Troyes and liked the look of Aux Crieurs de Vin.
A table was available for us two although most seemed to be reserved and following customers were turned away.
A carafe of water was served immediately, a good sign.
A shared starter was excellent, served with good bread and a glass of red wine.
I had the pork from the mains and my partner the chicken. Both very good.
Substantial fare and finished with a coffee.
Very good and great ambience.

We went to this restaurant after Reading the reviews and it certainly matched all the positive feedback. The food was very tasty and very reasonably priced. The evening we were there it was very busy but this adds to the atmosphere.
The service staff are very efficient.
Certainly value for money for casual eating.
Would certainly return.

Created in 2011, the Japanese restaurant "Sushi Yaki" in the heart of the champagne cork, a historic place in Troyes aims to be a tasting of Japanese dishes in a refined, elegant and Zen restaurant.
We were looking for a late light lunch on a saturday and stumbled into this because the neighboring restaurants were serving things we didnt want to eat, juging from what other patrons had on their plates. They were so kind to accomodate us even though the request was falling out of their service hours.
We ordered Sashimi and a seafood dish (soup). The portion was not too huge for the sashimi but I guess that's what it is like for sashimi. The quality was however excellent and the presentation too. The seafood bowl was very tasty.
All in all a very worthy visit.

We arrived with a certain amount of scepticism and left replete and happy. Salad, duck and dessert plus a bottle of Morgon coffee and 2 glasses of Chablis. At eur86 excellent value no long periods between courses and enjoyable food. How anyone could find fault leaves us cold, it is not 5 star gourmet but the best we saw in this town and one which is well worth the call to make a reservation.

Change of pass after all the French food. Nice restaurant with accurate service and good food. Fresh pastas and delicious meat dishes. Pizzas looked good too. The portions were also good. We really enjoyed our visit. Definately a good choice in Troyes.

Honestly. If the ratings for this place on Tripadvisor are all true then the French do not know anything about good gastronomy. Inspired by the good ratings and hungry we went here on a Saturday evening. Sitting down it took 15 mins until our orders were taken and then another 45 minutes until our food did NOT arrive. Not even the drinks... Yes, this is (theoretically) a fast-food restaurant, but nothing was fast. There were a number of other guests complaining about wrong orders or other people arriving later being served earlier. This place is rated as cheap. Well 8,90 EUR for a burger served in a paper box and 2,50 EUR extra for a smallish serving of fires, also served in cardbord - I dont consider this cheap. When we complained there was just a shrugging shoulders, no nothing.

Great venue, clean, sharp and stylish to compliment superb street food. Simple menu executed very well indeed. Burgers are well cooked and the toasted brioche bun is sublime. Not cheap but the difference between the food on offer at Claire & Hugo's and any mainstream fast food joint is vast. Well worth a visit if passing through Troyes.
