A great soba experience. The restaurant has a really nice style and feel. The staff are very attentive and friendly, and the soba is delicious. A great place to try Tokamachi's famous soba.

市内各地に蕎麦屋さんがある地域です。不思議なんだが、北陸とか越後とか一般的に寒い地域なのに、何で蕎麦とかに「冷たい」「つけ麺」「おろし蕎麦」とかが多いのかな？ここもイメージは色々な出汁に漬けて食べる蕎麦が主力。でも私は温かい蕎麦しか食べない、食べられない。それも腰の無い柔らかい蕎麦が大好き・・・昔、戸隠で食べた温かい山菜蕎麦とか地元京都のにしん蕎麦は大好き・・・従って、ここも良いお店ではあるが・・・嗜好と云う面で私は評価しない、出来ない。

Beautiful food (mountain vegetables, local produce), carefully prepared, served by lovely staff. The restaurant itself is an artwork, and tables look out over other artworks and rice fields.

十日町駅から徒歩5分くらい。商店街のはずれ。失礼ながら外見は全く期待できない感じだったのですが、太麺煮干ししょうゆの脂びっしりのラーメンが出てきて、うまい。薬味がねぎとたまねぎを合わせているのがいいです。

JRの十日町駅前にある地元食堂、列車待ちに便利。手打そばにかき揚げ丼をいただきました。十日町B級グルメといわれているてんぷらラーメンなるものもありました。

小嶋屋本店から徒歩で向かいました。２回人に聞いて見つけましたが・・・・。お店の前に「売り切れで閉店」の張り紙。お店の人がいたので聞きましたが「残念！」。皆さん～へぎそばの食べ歩きをするときは、営業時間・定休日・場所をチェツックして是非行って下さい。田麦そばさんは十日町駅からは遠いですが歩けます。売り切れになるほどうまいのでしょう～！次回は！

Love Japanese buckwheat noodle with assorted wild vegetable fritters?
Then you must not miss the one at an isolated house nestled among a remote mountainous area, Tokamachi, Niigata where is famous for Echigo-Tsumari Art Field and its Triennale.
At Soba restaurant Matsuo, you can have TenZaru, an ideal tempura-soba set meal.
Matsuo has only Japanese menu, but you don’t have to panic. The menu is quite simple, offering just three dishes.
TenZaru: 1,200 yen
Zarusoba: 800 yen
Tempura: 400 yen
You see? Ten-Zaru = Tempura + Zarusoba
In fact, every single person orders TenZaru at Matsuo.
Enjoy TenZaru with open air art pieces next to the restaurant.

へぎそば食べ歩きチケットを使って食べて来ました。十日町駅から徒歩６分ぐらいの駅近のお店です。
うなぎも食べられるお店ですが、へぎそばもこだわりの製法で作って提供してます。
店内もこじんまりしていてカウンター席とテーブル席が有りました。ここではチケットで小盛りへぎそば１枚を食べて終わり。
ここも美味しかったので食べ歩きで失敗するお店はないのでしょ！
