Tighnabruaich; (/ˌtaɪnəˈbruːəx/ ( listen); Scottish Gaelic: Taigh na Bruaich) is a village on the Cowal peninsula, on the western arm of the Kyles of Bute in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. In 2011 the population was 660. It is west of Glasgow and north of the Isle of Arran. The road to Ormidale was built in the late 1960s, and until then the village was more reliant on the sea for the transport of passengers and freight.

The Oystercatcher is a pub and restaurant on the banks of beautiful Loch Fyne, now open under new management. We offer meals prepared with fresh, local produce and stock a wide range of Scottish craft beer, small batch gin, and whisky in our bar.
We were thrilled to be greeted by charming staff, an airy and stylish interior and stunning views at The Oystercatcher for a recent lunch with friends and family. The staff made our visit, they were chatty, friendly and very welcoming. Aesthetically the room is pleasing, uncomplicated and refreshing. Personally, I found the food quite disappointing, leek and potato soup was starchy and crunchy, we all had the fish n chips which tasted of burnt oil and was very fatty indeed. Skipped dessert as a rude man stood at the bar insulting anyone that walked past. If you can go to The Oystercatcher it’s worth it for the view alone, otherwise it’s nothing amazing.

Visit here once or twice a year, always pleased. New owners opened only one week ago. Full on a Tuesday night, good atmosphere and welcoming. Good food - "specials" were good value and langoustine dishes we had were excellent. Would be nice to see the main menu branch out a bit from burgers etc. Affogato dessert a favourite and well presented. We look forward to returning again soon.

Award winning restaurant and bar overlooking the marina, featuring the very best of Argyll`s larder. The Lodge kitchen and bar offers a communal style dining facility, featuring traditional fayre and great value.
Stunning place. Friendly staff all over. Very family friendly too. Facilities fabulous. G8 breakfast and resteraunt was lovley... personally my steak could have been tendorised as was chewy! Would recommend for sure.

I was in Tarbert overnight and simply walked up and down the quay looking at the various eating options before settling on Scott's Bistro. I struck lucky because (1) most tables were already reserved and (2) this is a stunningly good restaurant.
I started with the tomato soup (a special) and followed with a substantial dish of smoked salmon carbonara with linguine. Both were delicious while the service was outstanding.
Great food, excellent service, delightful ambience and reasonably priced.
Do make a reservation if you are planning to eat here.

A business lunch stop in this wonderful harbour-side cafe was an enjoyable way to kill an hour or so to accommodate a ferry delay. A great variety of light bites, soup, sandwiches, potatoes, paninis as well as more substantial meal options. I plumped for a bowl of Cullen Skink soup (Smoked Haddock and Potato) and a Bacon and Blue Cheese toasted Sandwich both of which were equally delicious.

Great views in comfortable surroundings. Unfortunately the chef combined a number of ingredients into a concoction of something akin to an Eton mess, which completely ruined the very tender venison. Taste and visual appearance is important on the plate. The visual appearance was nothing short of disgusting. Very disappointing.

Fully licensed seafood restaurant in Tarbert, Loch Fyne, specialising in locally sourced fresh fish and shellfish prepared with simplicity and care. Full menu and daily specials with meat and vegetarian options also available, as well as a well appointed wine list. We promote a relaxed and friendly dining experience and look forward to welcoming you to Starfish.
I booked the table and discussed with Kate that I wanted a shellfish platter. I asked for a larger lobster. When we arrived we decided not to have a starter. Good decision. The platter had two crabs, one large lobster oysters, languistins and mussels. They were beautifully cooked and presented. The cost was £80 for us both and we could not finish the meal. Great value.
I warn you that you need to organise this before you go as it is not on the menu at this time.

This is a hotel with a restaurant attatched. I would like to review the restaurant without having to review the hotel as they are seperate. Thanks.
Went for dinner with my family, because of my parents wedding anniversary. The food was really good and the staff was so kind. The Australian waitress was very funny and made us feel right at home.
The hotel owner even opened up the shop for us (at 9 in the evening) so we could get some bread and milk for the next morning. So kind!

Popped in for coffee and cake.
Friendly staff.....lovely cup of cappuccino & the Victoria sponge cake was yummy.
The menu looks great & will definitely be returning for lunch.
The cook shop is also worth browsing......good quality utensils etc on sale.
I however have one thing that I liked least & that was the cleanliness of the toilet......

What a place. Visited years ago and found it very nice so thought we would call in on out way to Portavardie for the ferry. On walking in there was a smell of grease but ok it is a café. I asked for 2 lattes, they were served in SMALL teacups from a machine with a push button (don't like them, I want them fresh made with milk) and it was £2.20. I decided to have tea £1.80, did not drink it think the tea bag had been used for a week!!! How coach tours take their patrons there is beyond me.
