From the first moment to the last bite, L'Auberge Restaurant is the place to dine in Taghazout. The friendly stuff is welcoming, well prepared, and with big heart. The chef is the same for many years, so the quality is remaining and rising. Its a happy place from bottom to top.

Do yourself a favor and order the chef salad. Served with traditional Berber style bread, it includes green peppers, onions, tomatoes, potatoes, and eggplant all perfectly marinated in oil and herbs. Showed up too late for lunch and their famous chicken baldi tajine was sold out. Was definitely not disappointed with the chicken bastilla...delicious!

I recommend anyone who prefers a quieter and more alternative lifestyle to visit Banan Beach, it is a village filled with hippies and surfers, for those who want to get away from the tourist resorts, have a bonfire and smoke sheesha by the beach this is the place to visit, you can pick up an apartment during the quieter months of the season for £20.00 a night, on the beach, overlooking the waves with your own private balcony equipped with small barbecues, you really can't beat it if this is the kind of lifestyle you like. It isn't cosmopolitan Agadir.

French cuisine and marocaine.L'esprit of the house is to make you spend a pleasant moment in a framework bucolic and offbeat, generous cuisine tasty and offering "mini" card market products, fresh fish day, salads and vegetables from organic farming, classic French pastries made on site in the most strict rules of tradition, all in a musical atmosphere 70-80-90 year !!!
We were told that this was the place to eat in the area, so we set off to find it. It is a long way off the beaten track, but is now a firm favorite - especially if you dont mind a drive along the coastal roads north of Agadir.
We were invited to join some friends who told us about the place, so took the opportunity to go. Our first impressions are that it is a small and welcoming establishment and Christian, the owner made us feel very welcome.
The menu changes daily and there is plenty of choice to suit all palettes - fish is a local speciality as there is a large fish market in the village, but there is also plenty of other choices.
Cuisine is French and Moroccan. My wife chose a stuffed chicken dish, and I chose the 3 cuts of lamb. The food was totally awesome - some of the best I have had in Morocco. The meat was cooked to perfection and the sauce was sublime. The wife also loved her dish, the portions are wholesome, so I had the opportunity to finish her dish off and it was also very nice.
Sweets are a speciality and you go to the chill counter to choose - if you love chocolate you will be in heaven! I had a classic French apple tart - just lip smacking.
As you would expect, this small restaurant is very French and laid back in the nicest possible way, lunch lasted several hours and it was very pleasant to just sit and chat.
Finding the place would be difficult and I expect that if you did not know it was there you would miss it - it is not on the main N1 but on an off shoot - a small sign is all you will see. I guess they must rely on referral business - the restaurant was quite full all the time we were there.
I would highly recommend this place for lunch - we are going for a dinner in a few weeks but I am told dinner is an all evening affair with live entertainment most nights - booking would be essential for groups.
Prices are mid range and excellent value for money.

In the center of Taghazout, restaurant Dar JOSEPHINE is organized around a generously vegetated Terrace, making it a great place, open continuously from 9 am to 11pm, in a spirit of sharing and conviviality. Our long experience in Lyon cuisine, our research, travels, allow us to cook at any time home made meals from fresh market products or from the boat of fishermen. Daily homemade bread is baked in our restaurant. Inevitable and welcome here, crossing dogs and cats are fed, treated, vaccinated and sterilized with the help of the Association the " Coeur sur la Patte" managed to convince local authorities to help us in the operation "Vaccination and sterilization" only alternative to avoid proliferation and thereby to protect the population. Adults and kids are happy to join friendly animals and even indulge in a session of "Calinotherapie". Thus we contribute to "SAVE HOPE, SAVE THE ANIMALS WHICH ARE OUR HOPE" as advocated by the eminent anthropologist Conrad LORENZ!
Great quality food in a nice setting. The menu does not appear to change very much year-on-year, but neither does the great quality and hospitality of the owner and her staff. The emphasis is on fresh ingredients and quality ratehr than quantity. Good salads, tzaziki to start with, followed by fish of the day and a pudding for just over D100. The owner cares for stray dogs and cats, so some of these will be hanging around, but they aren't intrusive.

Arrived on a busy Saturday night( booked in advance on their website)
Friendly staff
Beautiful restaurant
Great appetizer to start with (free)
Ordered a mojito and a pure passion coctail. Mojito needs more limejuice, sugar and mint. Pure passion coctail was ok.
Great starter! Grilled scallops and prawns.
For the main dish we had grilled turbot, and skewers of prawns and monkfish. Everything was absolute delicious!
Had the cheapest white wine. Nice taste
Did not have dessert as we were to full! You get lots of food served here
Would definitely recommend!
