Georges Wenger hasn't anything to prove anymore, his cuisine has been awarded two Michelin stars since many years. But he keeps reinventing himself all the time and it is always a new culinary discovery when one returns here (what we have done many times) Superb cuisine, excellent guest rooms, refined breakfast. A great experience.

We ate in their delightfully old-school restaurant, both of us choosing their Saveurs et Decouverte menu at E49.50 (4 courses) or E68 (5 courses). After an amuse-bouche of sardine (beautifully presented but neither of us much likes sardines), we both had the foie gras de canard to start, with a glass of the local vin doux naturel, Macvin (E8 each). Only one of us had the fish course, of cod, then as mains we have the fillet of beef and the veal sweetbreads. The pretty pink sorbet is a nice touch.
The lovely, retro cheese trolley at an extra 6 euros is a steal. For dessert we had the chocolate mousse and the confit of rhubarb with strawberries.
Half bottles of the local Jura wine, Savagnin white (E19) and Trousseau red (E16), rounded off an excellent meal. By the end of it the restaurant was full, and service was perhaps a tiny bit slow but we didn’t really mind, all the food was beautifully presented.

The menu unfortunately doesn't match with this rustic friendly place anymore: Fancy (and ethically questionable) stuff such as stuffed goose liver and lots of meat/fish without even mentioning the vegetables or herbs used in a dish. Unfortunately there are no simple dishes such as choucroute with potatoes, polenta with ratatouille/leeks/red cabbage or vegetable platter at all on the menu.
On positive note we appreciated the fact, that the kitchen took criticism from customers (to properly cook animal meat or modify a certain dish) seriously and tried to adapt to it. The serving staff was attentive and friendly.

We spent a night in the Hotel du Soleil. The room was big, quiet, comfortable and well heated. Everything was clean, the bed comfortable. This is a simple hotel. The only real downside is that the furniture is old-fashioned; don't expect any "woaw" effect.
If you are in the region in autumn, make sure you book a table (in advance) at the restaurant to eat their "chasse": it's by far the best in Switzerland!

We walked around this beautiful lake and found this restaurant next to the main road with plenty of parking spaces accross the road. It is cosy inside and has a large fire place for the cold season. It took a while for the food to be served but it was good food for such a remote area. They also showed some flexibility when we only wanted part of the days special menue. Prices were Ok for what was served. We can recommend it.

Because it was raining quite badly, we did not want to cycle.too far from the campingsite. This was the closest place for food. We were a bit hesitant, because it was located inside the sports centre, overlooking the ice skate ring. However, the food was absolutely delicious and the waiter was very friendly and helpfull. We shared a salad with local chees and meat, then a steak each. Cooking of the steak was just as we required. Excellent, we have bad experience with this in other resaurants. We think the cheese fondue is also worth trying, we saw it at another table and it smelled great!

Its one of my favorite pizzeria and its 30 km from where I live but I always bring guests here and they always say that's the best pizza they had. Fish is also too good and the staff is extremely friendly, we were served by waiter Mr. Nghi. He is a superb Asiatic origin person with very friendly service.
