Went yesterday. We were made to feel very welcome by both members of staff, one of whom spoke good English. He couldn't have been any more helpful.
It is a 'locals' type of restaurant and not a tourist joint.
There's only one noodle dish that they offer and it was really delicious.
£2 GBP equiv. for two bowls plus two Saigon beers.. Hard to complain about that!

We were struggling to find restaurant reviews in Quy Nhon but thought we'd give this one a try.It appeared very busy with locals, a mix of families & smartly dressed crowd. We were handed a black & white photocopy of the menu with English description. No drinks were listed, when we asked to see the list the waiter quickly handed us a Vietnamese menu (more extensive) and pointed eagerly at the relevant page.Upon looking at both menus it was clear that the English one was more expensive for the same dishes. We asked why this was, the waiter looked embarrassed & started to alter the Vietnamese menu in pen, suddenly unable to speak. We just ordered 2 beers & left.
I'm sure this goes on all the time but here it was very obvious & we left on principle.

It has not been easy to find a restaurant recommended by Tripadvisor and Lonely Planet that is still open in Quy Nhon! The place is spacious, the gingham of the tableclothes reminded us of local trattoria back home! We had grilled shrimps with salt, spring rolls, seafood salad (do not choose it if you don't like coriander!!) and hot pot with tuna in vinegar...the service was impeccable: we would have a waitress helping cleaning up the table and cooking the tuna in the pot. We just missed a local beer, as in Quy Nhon they all have only Tiger and Heineken...

Situated partially on the boat and partially on the deck, the restaurant is very rustic (I mea at first sight it was a little bit shocking). But full of locals (which according to our experience is always a good sign), with friendly staff who speaks a couple of words in english (don't worry, they have an english menu and free wifi) and delicious food is worth recommanding. Cons - we had to take a taxi from our hotel to get there and call one to get back to the hotel, even considering Vietnam a secure place I wouldn't dare to walk there by night; and the food is not cheap! We paid 50 dollars for 10 big grilled shrimps, 1 clam soop, one salad with little shrimps and a plate of squid in bread crums. And 6 Heinekens. One kg of lobster was 110 dollars.

Avani Life Resort Restaurant Review, 02-16-2014

This is a review of the restaurant and NOT the hotel resort. The restaurant and hotel are located about 10 kilometers south of Quy Nhon town on Bai Dai Beach.
We were staying at the Haven Guesthouse only a quarter mile north and decided to checkout the menu and have coffee in the morning. We only had iced coffees and they were quite good at 40,000 (plus tax and service) each.
This would be one of your few options for dining outside the Haven Guesthouse, except for a couple sit-down stool affairs in the village. The Avani restaurant in undoubtedly nice but extremely expensive. The average person would not be eating there in my opinion, given some of the prices below. Again, you’re a captive audience around Bai Xep village.
The menu was fairly extensive with steaks, all sorts of seafood and other dishes. Dinner food items were quite expensive, and a decent three course meal without alcohol would easily run about 500,000 - 2,000,000d for two, with shellfish and steaks being at the higher end. The breakfast buffet is 263,000d plus service and tax (15%) per person if you are not a resident or the meal in not included in your room rate. Decent wines generally started at about $50 USD and up.
If you are staying in Quy Nhon, I would seek out an excellent restaurant there before paying the approximate tariff of 200,000d each way for a taxi ride. Getting there might be easier than getting back if you have an evening meal. There are no buses running after 5:30 PM and no taxi’s.

We came here due to reviews on TripAdvisor. First visit, they served us ok but there were three extremely chatty ladies (staff) who were literally fighting the entire time. Gave us a headache! The next day, we went there again as the food was ok. This time around, they gave us ‘oily as hell’ pancakes, sparse potions of salads and didn’t care much about us in terms of serving the meals. Maybe because they thought that we came again so they don’t need to bother impressing us? They seemed pretty angry and rude this time. I don’t know whether they were having a bad day but two days in a row was enough for us. We got so fed up with the loud chatty women that we left after two pancakes and dined next door at Anh Vu instead. Anh Vu has much better friendlier staff, food, refrigerated drinks and peaceful ambience. Should have gone to Anh Vu in the first place.

Very pleasant place with friendly staff. The pizza is really good and welcome when you in need of something different than Vietnamese food. You can seat outside and watch the buzzing street which makes the place even more interesting. The price is higher than eating local food but then it's a choice and it can not be a negative point.

it was a first time i travelled to Quy Nhon, a small city. And So suprise with this icecream store. Can compare the quality with other icecream shop at Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia, and the price even more cheaper few times.
with 50 cents, you may have a cup with full ice cream scoop - which handmade by the famlily ( due to my friend their) .
About service, cause there is a small city and havent been tourist city yet, so basically the waitress not able to community by English. Btw, they have some real photos of signature food, so u can easy to make a decision.
Comeback: Sure, if i have a chance
Food: 9,5/10
Service: 8/10 ( based on the city's rate )
Price: 10/10
Totally: 9/10 ( cause i love this )
Thank.

The best dish was beef and pig BBQ. The pizza was changed to suitable for Vietnamese. The reasonable price. Although the place was small and hot but the BBQ really great to try

Quy Nhon is a low-key, domestic-tourism-focused alternative to more backpacker-oriented towns such as Muine and Nha Trang. The best it has to offer is drinking a few beers or cocktails at sunset on the city beach after a dip in the none-too-pristine waters along this coast.
We had a few maragaritas and Tigers at Surf Bar 2 and found it a pleasant and relaxing if far from world-class beach holiday experience. Keep your expectations modest and you'll have a good evening.
