If you don't like to wait, go on a weekday. If you are there on the weekend plan on waiting, but the wait is well worth it. Their specialty is lobster (3 sizes small med and lg) The large is actually 3 tails and is only $19.00 US. They also offer other seafood, i.e. fish and shrimp which is very good. They serve homemade tortillas, home style refried beans and rice for the table.

La Casa Vieja Winery dates back to the early 1800's. Owners Humberto and Colleen Toscano strive to provide quality artisan wines, including the La Casa Vieja label. Come visit the Tasting Room, Gift Shop and La Palapa Countryside Grill.
Lobster/Shrimp combo was delicious. If you sit outside you have a complete view of the ocean. You can even feed the seagulls some chips. They are below you and do not pester you. Waiters are all friendly and serve with a smile. Home made tortillas are so good you can't stop eating them. Margaritas are generous. All around fun place with great food.

Villa Ortega's Restaurant never disappoints, however this time the weather was not cooperating so there was no view. The fog was being stubborn and would not burn off. However that did not stop us from partaking and indulging in the lobster luncheon and the margaritas with the tortilla soup. Also the traditional mariachi music always enhances the ambiance and the food. If you have never been, the lobster luncheon comes with tortilla soup, Spanish rice, refried beans and fresh tortillas. Of course the menu is far more extensive but the lobster is what everyone comes for. This town is quite a colorful area where after you have eaten you can always go walking around to see the curios and Mexican souvenirs. Don't forget to barter.

Urban wood-fired pizzeria with pizzas, appetizers, salads, and desserts made with only the finest ingredients. Relaxed atmosphere with soft music. Local wines and beers. Great tiramisu and desserts!
The ambience is good but the food, service, menu, wine list, bar are great! Highly recommend as a must try for visitors to Baja. I have been here at least 20 times and rarely write reviews but had such a great time tonight that I just had to post. Staff has all been here as long as I can remember and the proprietor, Richard, really cares about his customers enjoying there visit. Don’t miss this gem of baja and a true gourmet pizza experience! If you are vegan there vegetable are irresistible.

This place is away from the main "lobster towns" like Puerto Nuevo and Popotla .... places that started as great local villages but have slowly evolved into tourist traps. While this has a little essence of tourist trap, the view of the ocean is first class and the food selection and pricing, especially lobster, are as good if not better than what you get at the traditional places. A warm welcome and good service made for a great dinner!

Only been open few weeks and NOT to be confused with Villa Ortegas
We stopped in for lunch for my birthday. We had been told to go to Ortega's but they didn't tell us which one. There are about 4 of them so this is the one we went to. We both had a drink. I had to ask for one with rum because it was clear that it was only Coconut milk. But still got charged 7 $ US. Quesadilla and shrimp stuffed chicken was a bit dry but ok. No dessert offered....no coffee. Poor service. Obviously the wrong Ortega's.

We were staying in La Salinas and wanted to go out for Lobster. Angel Del Mar is the place. Many in our group had the Lobster Dinner, but I had the Lobster Quesadilla. It was delicious. We sat out on the back patio overlooking the beach/water. We will definitely be back.

There are countless restaurants where you can enjoy fresh Langosta (lobster) in Puerto Nuevo. Many of them offer the same package -- lobster, along with all you can eat rice, beans, tortilla, chips & salsa -- And many throw in a complimentary margarita or guacamole.
Wandering the streets you'll be approached by many hawkers, all promising the freshest lobster at the best prices. Located one block off the water, La Escondida had a much more relaxed feel and we were able to come in and look around and the choices with no pressure.
Prices were very reasonable; less than others right on the water, but the upstairs patio offers ocean views and cool breezes just like the ones one street over.
We ordered one 'small' and one 'medium' platter -- both lobsters were well-prepared, very flavorful and we were impressed with the flavor and quality of all the side items. At $14.50 and $16.50 (tax and margarita included!) -- very reasonable for a great lunch!
If you are looking for something a bit more mellow, local than the larger restaurants right on the water this is a good choice -- and you'll enjoy a very yummy lobster meal to boot!
