Puerto Colombia is a coastal town and municipality in Atlántico Department, Colombia founded in the mid 1800s. Famous for its "Pier of Puerto Colombia", that at one time was the largest Pier in the world. Duties were later transferred to the larger and modern Port of Barranquilla in Bocas de Cenizas, the mouth of the Magdalena River in the Caribbean sea.

I was with some family and friends in the town of Puerto Colombia, a few miles from Barranquilla for several hours enjoying the afternoon. When it was time to dine, we found this restaurant on one of the side streets near the main square. It was a quiet place that had antiques in the front entrance and breezeway. In the rear was the dining area with plenty of room and a generous view of the sea. I already knew what I wanted and I showed the waiter a picture of the meal I had in Santa Marta the previous year. He knew right away and said "Si!" What I was referring to was the grilled Red Snapper that came with rice, tostones and salad. We all ordered some sort of seafood meal and had beverages along with water. The place was nice, quiet and relaxing. The dinner was awesome and we "cleaned it up" leaving only bones on the platters. This place will not be forgotten. I'll be back, that is for sure. The cost was a shock when I compared the pesos to dollars. I found that I had actually spent less that what I thought it would be, but of course I was thinking with a North American mindset on price. I recommend this place to anyone who happens to be in Puerto Colombia. It is not hard to find from the main square.

These young Italian cooks have made a name for themselves over the past years, providing beach combers, tourists, and city folk with permanent quality. Good Italian cuisine, quaint ambience, friendly service and fresh, home baked bread make it a favorite weekends and festivities.

While traveling through the southwest area of Medellin driving along a winding road through the Andes, it was time to have something to eat before we continue our trip through the night. This restaurant is a big restaurant with a giftshop next to it, and at a crossroad to Salgar, Bolombolo and Pintada. When you are in this area, it is worth a visit and enjoy a great meal.

The tables are located in a nice garden on the top of a cliff over viewing the Caribbean sea, at the end of the cliff the historical Salgar Castle (Castillo de Salgar). We went just before sunset; the view and the colors in the sky made it a really special place. The food is very good as so is the service. Mainly a seafood menu but it offers some other options.

I HIGHLY recommend Primo's. I thought it was going to be a typical fast food restaurant but it definitely wasn't. The food is really delicious, employees are so motivated to give you a great experience and the environment is great. But really, it is DELICIOUS. If you are a foreign staying at Puerto Colombia you should eat at Primo's every day and if not, you sould do it to.
