This was an experience of a lifetime. The staff was exceptional, they worked like an orchestra. The food was not only beautiful but delicious. The highlight was when chef Elena came to our table and made us feel like she was welcoming us into her home.

Absolutely wonderful experience with undoubtfully some of the best food ever to be served to both myself and my dining companions. Every aspect of this restaurant is planned and perfected: the splendid, intimate but spacious location, the excellent table service, the food. Definitely a favorite. Well done to chef Berasategiu and his team, who also kindly offered a tour of the kitchen, TV set and wine cellar after the service had ended.

I went here for the first time with my partner who was visiting me for the weekend and we chose from the lunch menu. The food was presented beautifully and interestingly (Some dishes came on slate) and was absolutely delicious. The restaurant has a very relaxed atmosphere and you can eat fine food yet feel totally at ease. I went back here for a work Christmas dinner and had the set evening menu, which was stunning. There were several courses which were all presented in weird and wonderful ways and it was an experience as well as just eating. For what it is, and the food you get it, the price was very reasonable. I recommend this restaurant wholeheartedly.

We ate dinner at Arroka Berri during our stay in Hondarribia. Both the setting and service were very good and food was reasonable but not outstanding. While the experience was pleasant, the food was not consistent with the expectations we had from previous traveller reviews.

This little bar is really a gem in San Sebastian! Best steak ever, tasty tomatos and chilli are the man menu. You can also ask for Jamon, cheese Sandwich but going for the steak is highly recommended.
Also, They are doing the best tortilla you can find in Spain, but you need to go and register your name 1h before opening (so go at 12 or 7 respectively for lunch or dinner), as they do only 2 servings per day.
All in all, highly recommended!
ps: no credit card accepted.

Had lunch at this lovely restaurant, without booking in advance so had to share a long table, though other customers didn't arrive before we had left. We had ham with green peppers, oven baked crab (seriously delicious), cod and the local hot dessert (so popular...MoreGood morning Sylvia. Thanks a lot for sharing your review. Elkano was a very pleasant discovery. We were told to go there for lunch by a friend of mine who has a house in San Sebastián and decided to follow his advice.
The service was incredibly friendly and professional and the food excellent. The wine list, full of treasures, is really worth the trip alone.

On our last evening in Hondarribia we walked from the old town to the Hotel Jaizkibel to dine in the restaurant. We didn't have Reservations (because not in high season) and we didn't need them. The restaurant was only partially set up for diners and the tables that were set and ready were filled through the evening. We chose the prix fixe menu which gave us choices of all the items on the regular menu. The food was very well prepared and our server was friendly and helpful. The price of the dinner was quite reasonable given the quality of the food served. I would suggest having Reservations when the hotel is filled and would certainly recommend the Jaizkibel.
