We visited on a very cold day and, after the caves tour, were pleased to sit in the warmth being served by friendly staff. We went for the basics—cevapcici and a plate of other mixed meats and potato variations following on from a shared starter plate of cold meats, some salad and cheese. We also had the Union beer from the tap. Coffee to follow.
We were not looking for a gourmet experience, but for tasty, basic food. That was what we had.

We ended up here while searching for something to eat after visiting the Postojna Caves. Seems to the restaurant of a tennis club so the location isn’t the best. The service was OK but a bit slow occasionally. Food was good, we tried some different dishes like pizzas, goulash, pasta etc. and everything tasted well. Prices were on an OK level, most of the dishes cost around 9 EUR each. Another positive thing was that they had a Terrace allowing you to eat outside and a playground just outside where the children could play while waiting for the food.

We were visiting the famous Postojna Caves and knew there'd be food there, but decided to explore the nearby town and get a local feel for the area -- so glad we did. It was the day after Christmas, cold and rainy, and we were...MoreDear Guest, Thank you for visiting our restaurant, we are glad that you enjoyed our food as well as service. Avio Pub is located at the recreational airport near Postojna. We offer various types of food (pizzas, salads, steaks, desserts ...). In fine weather, you can watch the planes from our Terrace, while sipping a glass of fine wine from our wide selection.
Great experience team will cover your simple requests from tasting a good Czech Bernard Beer up to a Romantic dinner with fantastic Wine Selection from the region.
Especially wine selection is outstanding and you will not forget.
Food as steaks and seasonal vegetables ets as well.

Just off the entrance to the Postojna Cave is where the event and culinary centre – the Jamski Dvorec Mansion - is located. The cuisine of the Jamski Dvorec Mansion is proud of its venerable tradition combined with modern gastronomic trends. Guests will be served popular dishes from the Notranjska-Karst Region, gastronomic treats from Central Europe, Slovene culinary specialities as well as sea and Freshwater fish dishes.Pizzas, tasty lunches, ice cream and grilled treats can all be enjoyed in the same place, at the Self-Service Restaurant Briljant, located just nearby.
Jamski Dvorec at Jamska cesta 30, Postojna 6230, Slovenia provided excellent ambience, service, and dining following our Cave Visit. We like the formal ambience and service. Our fixed three course dining was excellent. The fare is appropriate for the tariff.

The new restaurant combines the rich tradition of the Karst Region with modernity. Culinary treats on offer include daily menus as well as dishes from the treasury of local home-made cuisine combined with modern culinary trends. Special attention is also devoted to guests who wish to have a little sit-down with a cup of coffee or a desert and escape the haste for at least a few moments. Free WiFi.
We almost walked out. We were the only customers when we walked in. We waited and finally seated ourselves. We made noise but no one came till we were getting up to leave. Despite the bad start we had a great dinner and the service was pretty good. It was pricey but we were both quite happy with our meals.

Following the recommemfation of tripadvisor ,we a family with children and baby wanted to have lunch in this restaurant. Unfortunately the place is closed. This was a big disappointment since it is not written anywhere.I am very sorry. It was closed due to renovation but it is now open.

I've been generally pleased with TripAdvisor recommendations but this time it has led me completely astray. Came on January 1 after visiting the caves and the restaurant was understandably packed. Had to wait one hour (with no apologies whatsoever from the staff) for our gnocchi dishes, which were salty and only lukewarm. The portions were so small that even a 5-year old would leave hungry (look at TripAdvisor pictures for an idea of portion size). The IPA however was super.
Maybe it was an off-day for the chef/staff as they were obviously understaffed on that day. However based on my experience the food and service were average at best and way over-priced.

The Modrijan Homestead Grill is located in the heart of the Park of the Postojna Cave. Open daily from April til September.
Nice simple restaurant for a snack or hot meal. Close to the Postojna caves so great for a hot drink before or after your tour too.
