Olinda (Portuguese pronunciation: [oˈlĩdɐ]), is an historic city in the Brazilian state of Pernambuco, located on the country's northeastern Atlantic Ocean coast, in Greater Recife (capital of Pernambuco State). It has a population of 389,494 people, covers 41.681 square kilometres (16.093 sq mi), and has a population of 9 inhabitants per square kilometer. It is noted as one of the best-preserved colonial cities in Brazil.

A little piece of Italy in Brazil. All dishes are handmade with ingredients from our own vegetable garden.
I am not a chef, but I would assume when one side of the Lasagne is piping hot and the other side is cold, it might be a sign that is was not be prepared on the spot. I was then told, that they prepare all the Pasta's in the morning and they just heat it up in the oven when customers place an order. After, I sent it back, it turned up two minutes later stifling hot. Oven's don't turn cold pasta's hot in two minutes, to me it sounds like some microwave action was going on in that kitchen.
Talking about microwaves, I am not sure how they defrost tiramisu, mine was a block of ice, when I mentioned that Tiramisu is not ice cream I was informed very confidently, that, they serve Tiramisu frozen, Always!
An Italian restaurant, that can't serve a Lasagne or a Tiramisu correctly, is not an Italian restaurant worth visiting, despite the other glowing reviews.

Lunch with my parents at the beijupira in Reserva do Paiva. It was such a discovery of tastes. The casquinha de Siri had a citron taste that I never felt before. The main dish that I had was the bijucanela. It looked simple: fish, cinnamon and bananas. But it was a great idea. Delicious. I will come back. It is not a five star because the service was a just a little off.

Very good, but missing little extra things to justify the too high price (80-190R$ for a dish):
-portion are (too) small
-no bread nor apetizers are served
-smell was too harsh from the other tables food (smelly fish)
Apart from that, food is excellent (especially for Brazil) and creative.
view is very nice as well.

Casa de Noca is a simple restaurant, in rustic surroundings. The only dish is manioc with dried meat and "coalho" cheese. The only variety is the amount, depending on the number of people.The food is delicious as well. But the prices are a bit expensive for the type of food. The service is reasonable. Open every day from 11am to 10pm.

Easy and simple recipe that is part of the town...the address is in an old house right at the heart of teh old town in Olinda...you will find a lot of the locals and the "alternative" crowd there...but do not label it...its a place for all tribes...delicious fresh juices...dont miss it!

Tribuna Bar e Restaurante Sabores Ibéricos hasta Spanish flavour to it. Recife itself is somewhat sad and run down, there are exceptions and this spot is one of them. Ocean front, Table clothes and waiters in uniforms.but not pretentious. We had grilled fish with molho do manga e maracuja ( Mango and Passion fruit sauce ) ..the fish was grilled perfectly, a little crunch on the outside, moist and not overcooked inside, the sauce was spectacular passion fruit with pieces of mango..Delicious.. Pitcher of Coconut water and an appetizer of crab, which was spectacular as well..Portions were a good size and the dish was for 2 people, It included rice with broccoli and baked whipped squash (called Jerimum, orange like a pumpkin) with cheese on top.
For 2..was Just under R$100 ($45 dollars).

Em passagem por Olinda, andando pela orla, resolvemos dar um descanso e comer alguma coisa nesse restaurante que tem ambientes interno e externo (atravessando a rua). A paisagem é boa! O atendimento também foi bom. Pedimos um camarão alho óleo que foi decepcionante. Deu a impressão que era um camarão requentado e não fresco feito na hora. A textura do camarão não estava boa. O preço estava adequado ao local.

We stopped here for lunch and observed many people eating, what I call 'peel and eat shrimp', but what they call needlefish. A generous platter was ordered along with a couple of beers, and we thoroughly enjoyed a leisurely lunch while overlooking the harbor. There is a colony of feral cats that are cute and wise for table scraps, so we tossed them a needlefish now and then for entertainment. Good option in Olinda, English not spoken.
