Novi Sad (Serbian Cyrillic: Нови Сад, pronounced [nôʋiː sâːd] ( listen); Hungarian: Újvidék [ˈuːjvideːk]; Slovak: Nový Sad [ˈnoʋiː ˈsat]; see below for other names) is the second largest city of Serbia, the capital of the autonomous province of Vojvodina and the administrative center of the South Bačka District. It is located in the southern part of the Pannonian Plain, on the border of the Bačka and Srem geographical regions, on the banks of the Danube river, facing the northern slopes of Fruška Gora mountain.

If you like Mediterranean cuisine, wine and relaxed atmosphere, go ahead - this is the place for you! Authentic menu, based on the Mediterranean style of cooking; on fresh fish, seafood, organic vegetables, homemade pasta, Greek and Dalmatian regions, salads, olive oil and Mediterranean spices. It's great for vegetarians, those who fast or eat low-calorie food, but the real gourmands also like it. With food we serve local wines and brandy from the famous Fruska Gora basement and monasteries and in the end always suggest bermet or calvados with excellent espresso and panna cotta (feel free to lick your fingers).
Whenever I visit Novi Sad, I come back to this restaurant. Food is fantastic and all the waiters are always so nice and helpful. If you like fish, this is THE place to go. If you don't there's plenty of meat dishes to choose from. They also have a selection of organic vegetables - my personal favorite being organic red beet salad with celery root, apple and sesame seeds. The non-smoking section is situated on one side of the street, while the smoking section is on the other. Since I'm a non-smoker, I always go to the non-smoking section, which is particularly interesting because you can sit on the balcony above the kitchen and watch them prepare food. This is a perfect place to go to if you want to escape the regular Serbian restaurant food offer made up of barbecued meat, meat and even more meat.
If you come for an early dinner, you shouldn't expect big crowds. However, if you happen to visit them around lunchtime on Sunday, you'd better make a reservation in advance (although the waiters are so nice they will certainly try to fit you in somewhere even if you don't have a reservation.

Fine dining
I frequently eat in this restaurant when travel to Novi Sad. The food is very good, with excellent service. Staff is very friendly and efficient. Located in center on Novi Sad with private parking, they have also a bar in the ground floor , but I never been . There is a kind of hotel also, which I plan to see next time. Overall congratulations for the management. Price ok for Europe , probably a bit high for Serbian average consumers.

Cafe VELIKI, a type of restaurant not often seen in Europe these days, with authentic flavors and recipes dating back to the 19th century. Novi Sad, and Vojvodina is multi-national and multi-ethnic society, and if you want to sense inspiring smells, and to enjoy delicacies that Serb, German (Austrian), Slovak, Hungarian and Jewish nations, living in Vojvodina ate, and still eat, come and visit us in Nikole Pasica street in the very heart of Novi Sad. We guarantee a delightful and relaxing atmosphere, where you can enjoy with your family, friends and your business clients. Experience authentic dishes prepared with the old tradition of this region. Excellent local cuisine in the charming restaurant.
A lot of beautiful food to choose from. The only reason I give them 4/5 is because they altered the real essence of the food from Vojvodina (the region).

They produce their own beer, at great prices 1EUR pint!!! Excellent taste, especially loved the RED beer as they call it, they have nice lager and dark beer too...very friendly staff.
This is excellent restaurant, with a nice covered Terrace and a rustic indoor premises.
The specialities of this place are great (especially beef dishes), but be prepared either to share your portion with your fellow-guest or to leave it half-eaten. Otherwise, you must be very hungry to eat it all.
We were here to celebrate our son’s birthday. Happy birthday, son!! And, thank you, “Camelot”, this was really tasteful!!

On Friday evening we had to wait about 45 minutes to get a table!
We waited cross the narrow street in a bar enjoying a nice beer.
Finally we got our table, strategically located between the entrance door, the kitchen and the drinks reserve of the house.
This allowed observing the ballet of people going out and coming in and the comes and goes if the staff: only two persons forming a real winning team!
Wishing to taste a bit of everything we selected a mix grill small portion (830gram) for each of us, some goat cheese and a variety of salads and some warm bread. The patron advised us that a small grill mix would be enough for two, snd definitely it was!
As drinks we had the choice between various beers, local alcohols and wine if the house. Here try out and make your experience. Next time we will go for a local distilled alcohol to start with and combine with beer later.
We enjoyed the food and the lively atmosphere. The patron always friendly, smily and with a kind eye on each table definitively contributed to it.
A place to go if you are in Novi Sad!

I really enjoyed eating here. The food and service are both excellent, they really make you feel like a valued guest and they make sure that you have everything that you need. It's also very pocket friendly. They have a pretty varied menu and there should be something for everyone. Just a word of caution...the portions are pretty big, go when you're good and hungry :) I would highly recommend it!

This restaurant is a beautiful retreat from the city centre. It is located on the Terrace of the Pertrovaradin fortress overlooking the city centre. The food is tasty and the portions are abundant, although the prices are a bit on the high end. In the summer it is great ti sit on the Terrace (in the open) and in winter it is great ti sit inside the old garrison barracks. The overall experience of this restaurant is more than satisfying.
