Had 2 wonderful meals from this place. My filet mignon was done to perfection and had a tasty array of roasted vegetables. My wife's stuffed chicken was also delicious and rave worthy. Excellent wine selection and good service in a peaceful and lovely setting. My only complaint would be that the carpet needed some vacuuming because there was food all over it, and we ate at the first sitting of the evening.

Bright, welcoming and friendly - Cottages restaurant offers hearty selections made with the freshest and highest quality ingredients. Overlooking Lake Rosseau, this restaurant expands in summer to include a spectacular patio. Year-round, the breakfast buffet features omelets and Belgian waffles made to order. True to its name, the environment at Cottages is reminiscent of spending time at the cottage with family and friends. Enjoy the work of local artists on display throughout the restaurant.
The breakfast buffet is very average (and I'm being generous here); the dinner buffet was a drama - quality, variety, presentation of food is below standard. Also the decor is really outdated and the outside Terrace lacks atmosphere.ErwinFromBelgium, thank you for your review. I am sorry to read that your dining experience was not as expected and hope you will contact the leadership team to discuss the specifics of your stay. Thank you for your feedback.

Stopped for lunch on a Thursday. It was quite chilly so we didn't eat outside but the deck looked like a great place to have a meal.
I had a naan chicken Sandwich which was quite good: fries were average at best. My wife had a french onion soup which was OK, but overpriced at $ 10.00.
The atmosphere here is great. Lively, friendly servers, music and a great view. If you are looking for a nice spot with decent food, this is a good place to try.

At highly rated Nick Faldo-designed golf club.
Recently had dinner here. Our wonderful server also picked us up from Clevelands House and drove us back! Service was excellent . The view overlooking the golf course was great. Thanks to our server for going out of her way to get markers, pens so that the grandkids could color. The dinner was very good. Had to move indoors to finish our wine, those nasty mosquitos were out. The staff never rushed us so very enjoyable.

Fresh and local fine dining in the heart of Muskoka.
I have no idea why this restaurant is so highly rated. It is extremely over priced and the food is nothing special. $7 to add one (1) shrimp to a pasta dish? I have never heard of something so ridiculous. I came home to Toronto the following night and 4 of us had a lovely and far more delicious dinner for less than what we paid here for 2 of us. There are much better places to eat in Muskoka.

We went to Don's based on recommendations from the Internet. Apparently the butter tarts are all the rage. We ordered one of each and are glad we stopped at that. The dough was tasteless and not flaky and the contents was not very flavourful and kind of gel like. Plus there wasn't much filling even there. Try a buttertart at the Tobermory Bakery if you want to know what a real one taste like. Too bad.

Wonderful quiches for an easy breakfast when you have company at the cottage. The focaccia is excellent - great to make appetizers or croutons. Freezes well.
Miss the deep dish crumb top apple pie they used to make.
They have double crust cherry, apple or blueberry now.
Port carling location has an ice cream shop behind their store.

At Teca, we focus on simple, delicious Chef-crafted food made with the freshest ingredients. Sounds from the open kitchen and the aroma of the woodstone oven create the environment of a Italian family gathering. This is a place for great food, conversation, laughter with friends and loved ones. Group gatherings are elevated by the emphasis on family-style dining.
The service was quicker and the food quality was much better than our last visit. Maybe they are taking the comments to heart from guests. But we also were the last Seating of the night so maybe that had something to do with it because we heard from other guests that service for them was still slow.

Award winning Cafe & Gift Shop. Soups, sandwiches, coffee, tea and Muskoka's largest hot chocolate bar. Ice cream, frozen yogurt and milkshakes. Ready made meals. Gift shop with gourmet foods and items for home and cottage.
It is always busy here and you can call and order pastries. The boutique is nice and offers a lot of different gift items and cottage decor.
The issue is... it smells terrible. I wish I knew what the smell was. We have stopped by twice but had to leave because of the smell. I feel bad writing this but someone has to say something. We go elsewhere when we drive by because of this ... sorry.
But the whole going nose blind must be true for the staff.

This place is a fantastic spot for lunch. Directly on the water and accessible by boat or car, Lakeside offers an excellent breakfast and lunch menu. We tried the vegetarian and chicken wraps, the butternut squash and cranberry soup and the thin crust pizzas. All were delicious with excellent presentation, quality and more than adequate quantity. Prices are a bit high but normal for the area and well worth it for the quality, lovely view and friendly service.
