We liked this place and had a very enjoyable evening. The new owners make you feel welcome and relaxed in this charming, small dining room. We did not get to meet the chef on arrival and he was not around when we left. The cooking is excellent, using fresh produce and prepared with great skill. You feel this is a family affair and they are aiming high. Welcome competition in Valbonne. Simple dishes on quite a limited menu (a good sign as everything is fresh and home-made), but as my wife is a good cook, we struggled to find anything that tempted us on the set menu, which was different from the one on their website, so went a la carte. The best anchoiade we have ever tasted, rouget with sauce aigre-douce is fantastic and they do things to Provencale vegetables with perfection and imagination.
A la carte pushes the price up. We paid almost 90 euro a head with half a bottle of wine and 1 coffee, but this is Valbonne! We shall be back, but probably will check first what is on the menu of the day. Prices could be a little lower to tempt back the locals.

This place has a decently priced menu for the region. A menu for 29 euros which includes Entre +Plat+Dessert is ideal for me. Their sheep (agneau) was one of the best plates i have every eaten for sheep (agneau). It was perfectly cooked. A very good range of desserts as well to chose for. The service in this restaurant is excellent compared to the average service in France. The lady is very polite and patient with her guests. Since i live around in the region i believe its one of the best restaurants around for the quality of food and the price

Delicious food and excellent service, this is one of those secret but divine discoveries that most tourists never find. Only one complaint - since revamping the menu they no longer do the outstanding prawns with avocado speciality - ask them to bring it back! Highly original; a great combination of tastes and colours. But the food is still amazing.

Dining in the bustling village square is a treat unto itself. Kids playing, people strolling add up to a delightfully warm, calm and authentic setting for a leisurey meal. The food is beautifully prepared and often has surprisingly wonderful touches -- like the penne served with the maigret de canard: perfectly al dent pasta with a rich cheese sauce accented by tiny cubes of apple and mango. An unlikely combination and a delicious one. Many have written about the Grand Marnier soufflé and I canonly add that it's a phenomenal dessert. Prices are reasonable, service is swift, atentive and helpful. All in all a lovely dining experience.

Our second visit to Le Clos Saint Basile, and the food was at least as good as last time. Really excellent throughout, although they might be in danger of over-feeding you, with an amuse bouche, a little cup of parsnip veloute, and a "pre-dessert" just...MoreDear Customer, thank you for taking the time to write in Tripadvisor your impressions. The team loved your comment. Best regards

Come and enjoy a Terrace with the most beautiful view at the entrance of the old village of Mougins. We welcome you in an ornate frame from May, 7/7days.Venez profiter d'une terrasse avec une des plus belle vue a l'entree du vieux village de Mougins.Nous vous accueillons dans un cadre fleuri a partir du mois de maiet ceux 7/7jours.
After a couple of weeks in Provence we wanted a lighter lunch than our usual fare and decided to try La Cave de Mougins, located near the main parking lot for the old town. We decided on the duo meat and cheese (charcuterie and fromage) platter with addition of the salad. And, since we were driving, opted to get wine by the glass (a 2012 Gigondas and a local young rosé). The food and wine were exceptional, and the food portions very large...should have ordered for one. Total bill was about 61 euro, a bit pricey, but on line with the area. Also, we could have cut back on the size of the order and saved a bit.
The server was very good, spoke some passable English (against my terrible French). We were the only ones having a lunch there that day (a Thursday). They have a huge wine selection and I wish we could have spent more time there sampling the vintages.
And nice views from the Terrace, too!

All the flavors of the Mediterranean based on fresh local products Respect of French know-how for 10 years And a wine bar in a unique setting #sortiramouans
Considering the outstanding service in restaurants throughout the area, the service at this restaurant was frankly appalling. The waitress did not make eye contact, even upon paying, and was snippy and cold throughout.
The food was very nice but served in fairly small portions and was lukewarm at best. When spending the best part of €40 a head for a one course dinner with wine, one does not expect cold food and to leave hungry, especially when there are so many similarly priced three course dinner menus at other restaurants in the area, and ones with considerably better service as well.

Very quaint, small restaurant serving typical meat, fowl or fish dish in a hearty style known as Lyonnais cooking. A good selection of red and white wines (Crozes Hermitage or Viognier were our preferred choice). Pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff made for a good evening dinner.

We went with a group of 14 people. Food was fantastic, portions were very generous. Between all of us we tried most of the menu. Carpaccio of St Jaques was amazing, Chuleton was to die for. Entrecote was on par. The woks were slightly below par. Good and honest wine selection. Good choice of cheeses. Overall was a true feast and the waiters were so patient and nice to us, gave us the main table on the Terrace. Highly recommended
