When entering the restaurant, at noon, you'll likely consider to leave immedely: The interior is more spartan than italian. Don't be deceived: Trust me, sit down, and wait for the menu. When scanning the pages, you'll likely to expect nothing special again. But, give it a try: The food is excellent, particularly when comparing quality and price. I'd particularly recommend
- The Pizza Napoli (Tomato sauce and Mozarella): Understatement pure, best Pizza I've ever had
- The Spaghetti al Ragu (Bolognese): Meaty and tasty
- The Carpaccia: Delicious
- The Insalata Rucola:
- The Melanzane alla parmigiana (Comes with excellent Pizza Bread)
- Penne alla Guappa: A festival of flavours
Additionally: Trust Pasquale Mazzaro (the Owner) and his selection of italian wines.: He's got a knack for it.
The Piccolo Mondo is ideally located when visiting Metzingen: Right in front of the train station.

Wishing to get out of the shopping crowd for a while, we decided to try this restaurant. What a beautiful surprise we had! Mezzo is an amazing place with delicious food, lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and fair price. A bonus is that they use regional products. For those not familiar with the German cuisine "Quer durchs Ländle" is a must!
Definitely a place for us to go back to when we are in the area.

We had been here before when visiting Metzingen and it was excellent- however this time we were so disappointed. The food was just ok and the service was not good- we got our main course while I was still eating my starter and the waiter just stood looking at me until I
Moved my starter plate to the side to continue eating. The waiter never cleared out starter dishes away and I had to ask several times to get my drink brought to the table.

Although the waiters want you to believe you have entered culinary heaven, their antipasti, pizzas, pastas and wines are ok. But not more. The bill unfortunately speaks a different language. For my taste the food is overpriced and their nose up in the air attitude suggests much more quality than what you actually get on your plate.

Keine Abschwächung meiner Beurteilung vom Herbst. Beste regionale Ware. Top zubereitet.

We usually come here to have a good wood oven fired italian type pizza, means thin and fresh. The service is fast and mostly friendly, the prices a good deal for what you get.
Besides the pizzas the salads are very good, same for the starters (I recommend the Bruschette and soup).
The only little complaint is the constant running TV (which is ok when there is an important italian soccer game on .. but besides this it is not very comforable for clients there)

I totally loved this small restaurant in a very characteristic square of the small town of Metzingen. As I have visited this place during summertime, I had the chance to dine outside in the "dehor" garden which is full of ornaments. The waiters were very nice and I had a good schnitzel with coconut breadcrumbs and an apple juice.
The interior of the restaurant is super nice, as it's a "cave" white painted full of trinkets. The price was proper

The hotel deserves all our accolades...Rooms are wonderfully done ! Though a small hotel but every detail has been taken care and done up nicely. The colour combination of the rooms are very soothing. The quality of food is excellent and the service is equally good. The best part is that it's a stone throw from the outlet shopping city. I would definitely stay in this hotel whenever I am in Metzingen and would recommend travellers to stay in this hotel.

The welcoming was really nice and friendly. The waiter, a young lady, very helpful and kind. We ordered the Schwäbischer Zwiebelrostbraten (roast beef - a local specialty) and a Rumpsteak. Meat was tender and tasty. Very convenient if you are shopping in Metzingen and want to eat properly. Nice German beer too .
