This review is slightly biased as I visited this restaurant while I was vegan and my friend with me is vegetarian, which greatly limited our menu choices. The view from this restaurant was breathtaking and it is within 50m from the beach. The pizze we ordered were ok, and looking around there are pretty good-looking seafood dishes. Upon learning that we are vegan/vegetarian the staff was not extremely helpful and we do feel a bit neglected service-wise (but they also have a busy dinner service).

Stunning view over olive groves towards the sea. The food is definitely worth the climb up the hill with the view being the reward for the effort. Dinner service starts at 7:00. The homemade pasta is superb and the fish delicious. As a stater we were given a bruschetta prior to the food we ordered. Nice touch. The service was excellent with the waiter offering suggestions. The menu was in Italian but they do have menus available with English translation which were offered when the waiter realized we needed assistance. Highly recommend this restaurant if you are in this area of Italy.

Came for a dinner - starter and pizza. Starters were nice, decent portions, but we were disappointed with the pizza. We had to wait for more than 35 minutes to get it and then came something so thin and crispy :( we couldnt even cut it, how much crispy it was.
Wouldnt come back again for pizza at all.

The restaurant is called "Dal Saraceno"! We had antipasti, then the local soup (which was fantastic) with a delicious thinner than thin pizza aglio e olio as a side dish, followed by equally tasty cozze (mussles) - a wonderful meal. The white table wine was a bit on the coarse side, so we would try something different next time. You will need some patience between courses when the restaurant is really busy, but then probably you are on vacation like we were and have time to relax and observe the busy street life on the steps of the small alley where the restaurant's tables are set. This gives the place a very special ambiente. Prices are very agreable.

Best cafe in town !! Hospitality above and beyond , bartenders/owners bring there passion and imagination in serving the greatest cocktails..Is always a first step when we visit family in town which in itself is a hidden treasure along the Gargano coast!

Perched on top of the cliff, this is the place to go on Matinatella Beach. The Antipasto di Mare should be the showcase for their kitchen and indeed, it's a complete showstopper (sorry for using the word show twice). Not just in volume but also in quality. Cozze ripiene, deep fried achovies, octopus with bean puree (!!), fish cakes, lots more, and even two local cheeses!! All of the highest quality, this alone is worth the trip to Lorenzo's. After that we had pasta with beans and cozze, unusual, original, very tasty. It was a perfect lunch, this is why love to travel Italy.

Fantastic experience, not only because of the food but because of the astounding location on the water. Good selection of reasonably priced wines with many local wines. The ravioli di melanzane were excellent as was the fritto misto. Semifreddo also excellent. But, the view brings it all together. Service was great, too. Should be rated higher.

Dined in the restaurant as we were staying in this lovely hotel. It was a wonderful night, warm and clear, and the setting, overlooking the little bay was pure magic. We shared the seafood starter, which was really nice, with about 6 different items, each delicious and beautifully presented. It would certainly have been a lot of food for one person. I ordered the plum crusted lamb chops, which were the best I have ever eaten. The meat was perfectly cooked, succulent and full of flavour. The plum crust and jus was out of this world. It was so good, I asked the waiter to fetch the Chef. I think the poor chap thought I was going to complain, and had a look of relief when I told him in my broken Itslian that the meal was the best I had ever had in my life!
The wait staff all speak multiple languages and are friendly and efficient. This was one meal we won't forget in a hurry! Really excellent. We dined there again the next evening, and my husband had the lamb which he thoroughly enjoyed also. I had the fish which was beautifully cooked.
Well done everyone! Really beautiful restaurant with excellent food and service,

Great local pizzeria... excellent prices, particularly on the various pizze. Also liked their selection of beers. Outside Seating makes for good people watching in a busy little corner that picks up as the night goes on.

Following the Tripadvisor recommendations I must visit the gelateria during my holidays in Mattinata - and it was a good choice!
The icecream is really incredible and the variety of cake looked very good. The service was not very friendly but the icecream was more important for me. :-)
