If you live in the UK and like food then you would have heard of Tom Kerridge who owns this restaurant. His reputation is what drew us to his pub to celebrate my Wife's birthday with some friends.
Situated at the end of the High St in Marlow this restaurant has a nice atmosphere when you walk in. Entering from the car park at the side you walk into a small bar where someone greets you and asks if you have a reservation. The atmosphere is very relaxed and right from the off, all of the staff were very helpful and knowledgeable.
As you would expect the breads and butter served at the table were all made in the kitchen and were extremely flavoursome.
I had the Pork & Mushroom Terrine to start and my wife had the Smoked Salmon Gravlax. Both were wonderful. All four of us had the Chateaubriand which, again, was excellent.
The wine choice is extensive with a fairly good range of prices
My only complaint was that the menu choices are quite small, which is OK, but our reservation was at the end of lunch service and they had ran out of the Gravlax (only the birthday girl was able to order it) and they had to supplement the Chateaubriand with some fillet steaks as they had also sold out of that too. Appreciate it was end of service but with a small choice of dishes you would hope to be able to get your first choice.
None the less the whole experience was wonderful and we all enjoyed the lunch.

Settling down, our party occupied 3 tables in this ‘boutique’ restaurant.
We sat through, I think, ten courses, I lost count, of their gourmet menu. Each course was beautifully presented and very tasty. The wine waiter that I talked to was very knowledgeable and could have been the son of the owner , who was also the Chef.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant .

Wonderful relaxing venue serving Italian cuisine. Traditional Italian service with filetting and flambé at the table when appropriate! And a Dessert trolley to die for! More expensive but still good value for that special evening, with great value lunchtime menus. Enjoy!

From the banks of the Thames take the short trip up the winding hill to Bovingdon Green and the warm, wooden heart of award-winning The Royal Oak. Oak by name and oaken by nature - but not hard or austere: not a bit of it. Bare floorboards and ancient timbers ooze bonhomie, it feels like someone's home - it might as well be yours for the time you are there. Like old friends visiting for dinner, the welcome is easy and relaxed. It's journey's end.
We hadn't been to our local pub on the outskirts of Marlow for quite a long time as friends were critical of it. We decided to give it a try for lunch, and we're very disappointed. The higher-than-average prices had increased further, the menus had rather pretentious- sounding dishes, and sides were extra. The part of the pub we sat in was cold and draughty, and looked a bit tired. The manager was polite but not very welcoming or friendly. Some of our food was very bland. It is the first time I have not left a gratuity for a long time. We will not be going there again; there's plenty of better value eating places in the town itself.

Our place is your space and you can use it any way you like. Having just a cup of coffee, or a family birthday - we invite you to be our Guest and enjoy your time at our place...
Popped in on a recent visit to Marlow...couldn't believe the service...we were about to leave when finally our order was taken. The food wasn't that great, either, as the plates were a bit dirty. Not great value for money, when you don't get good service or average food. Think they need a bit of a shake up!

A friendly restaurant featuring good authentic Italian food in a comfortable, modern surroundings. La Cantina Del Vino offers alfresco dining in the warm summer months and a variety of eating experiences including seasonal dishes, home-made Italian favourites and the versatility of Italian style dining outside normal lunch and dinner hours.
On the strength if reviews we met friends here for a midweek lunch. Really impressed with the variety on the fixed price menu and the food was excellent. Seafood linguine, venison, steaks, hake and calves liver were all very good and portion sizes generous. House wines were well above average. How they do it for £14.50 is impressive to say the least. The place was busy on a damp Tuesday lunchtime which is testament in itself. Will definitely try one evening too.

An independent cafe/ deli located in the beautiful countryside surrounding Marlow, we source from the very best local farms, central London markets and specialist suppliers to offer the finest food around, with a constantly evolving selection of produce.Inspired by a renaissance in British taste for quality cuisine, we aim to provide a luxurious range of stock in a warm and welcoming atmosphere reminiscent of the best London delis and farmers markets. We now offer a specially chosen selection of curious drinks alongside our rarer varieties of larder goods and fresh vegetable produce. We sell fine cakes, fresh breads, and gluten free foods, with daily specials to eat in or takeaway home-made from scratch by our own chef.
Just the place for a quick lunch with minimum fuss, but we found it to be rather expensive for what we had to eat. The salt beef was very good but served in a very small bagel with minimal garnish it looked a little lonely on a large plate. Green salad with parmesan shavings presented in a cereal bowl, so not very inspiring or easy to eat!
Tea and cake was fine but again the portions of cake on the small side. Service excellent as are the surroundings

Our inspiration for the food and design of Cote is a modern interpretation of the many famous bistros of Paris. Inspired by new trends, we are dedicated to serving authentic classic brasserie dishes with a modern twist, using high quality produce at great prices. On the menu, guests will always find brasserie favourites on our a la carte menu such as steak frites, moules marinieres, corn-fed chicken from rural Brittany and tuna Nicoise, for dessert, Cote's creme caramel and creme brulee are much-loved house specialities. Seasonality and Cote's commitment to sourcing high-quality ingredients results in a monthly changing specials menu, ensuring there is always something new to delight regular guests and gastronomes alike, as well as the excellent value set menu. Open early every day for breakfast, through to lunch and dinner; Cote's atmosphere is informal and friendly.
We reluctantly dined here whilst passing through Marlow. I say reluctantly as we generally try to avoid chain restaurants were possible. However, the set lunchtime menu - £11.50 for 2 course or £13.50 for 3 course - was simply unbeatable value for money for what turned out to be simple but well executed portions of food. The service was also good too.
