Light and airy building and good atmosphere.
Good parking if you get there early.
Good pre theatre food and thoughtful menu- pricier than expected.
Amazingly clean loos as was the entire building.
Good, polite service and great to see staff clearing tables and keeping things moving.
Theatre space good and well ventilated, although seats not the most comfortable.

After much local anticipation the new bridge linking Ray Mill Island with the wilds of Taplow has today been installed. This new structure links Berkshire with Buckinghamshire across the River Thames, makes the park area twice as big, and opens up a whole new area of pleasure for lovers of Ray Mill Island.
The installation of the bridge by the contractors was impressive and spectacular. The huge bridge as a complete structure was hoisted onto a floating platform/pontoon several hundred metres downstream from its intended site and then floated up the Thames to Ray Mill Island. All four corners of the pontoon were anchored to the shore via winches and then slowly - oh so slowly - it was turned through 90 º to align the bridge with its abutments.
It is now bolted into place and in the next little while will be linked to the park on both sides.
I look forward to putting it to good use.

There was a lovely interesting lady on the desk as we went in and we spent time looking at the History of Maidenhead and although we aren't from that area it still was very much worth a visit.Thank you for your kind review of our great little museum. This bridge has a great story. Isumbard Kingdom Brunel needed to span the Thames but keep the bridge low. It therefore has the ick brick in the world.

I took my two children aged 3 & 6 to take part in the Zoo Tour during the Easter Holidays. I have not been to the park for many years but were aware of improvements being made over recent years. There is now a circular path around the main grass area, which is flat & ideal for walking or use by disabled vehicles. Along the path are an increasing number of attractions for children to use, as well as the extensive playground situated at the entrance of the park. A large block paved car park is just inside the entrance.in front is Andrea's café, together with toilets. Opening hours vary but are shown outside building.
The central green has extensive daffodil bulbs currently in flower and the 2012 Jubilee Wood is slowly growing, although at this stage most trees are only small in size.
A very restful place to take a walk, enjoy tea and cakes at Andrea's or simply sit on any of a number of benches around the park. Longer walks are optional but the circular walk gives you 3334 steps towards the recommended 10,000 steps you need each day for a healthy lifestyle,(well that's is what is says on the sign as you go in).
Having rediscovered the much improved park I shall walk there again.
Recommend it to everyone.

I go to absolutely ten pin regularly and found out that this company also has laser tag. I use to go to laser quest as a kid and I can't believe how far the technology has come. They have really realistic chunky laser guns in this big arena with many rooms to hide in. I went with a few friends and the staff got us playing lots of different games and before we knew it an hour went by. This is really good fun and cheap too. A great option for when it is raining.

York Road Stadium ( home of Maidenhead United, and temporary home to Hayes and Yeading FC ) is believe to be the oldest senior football ground continuously used by the same club. The first match there was held in 1871.
Despite the brand new stand on the far side of the ground in front of the railway embankment, much of ground feel like it was part of the original structure !
There are two entrances to the stadium, the main one from the city centre, with a smaller gate from the railway station end. There is no parking at the ground, but there are several public carparks nearby.
Behind one goal is a covered Terrace, split into two sections with “Maidenhead United” painted in black and white on the back of the wall behind the Terrace. Behind the other goal is a smaller Terrace with some cover in the middle.
The other side of the ground contains an open Terrace along one half, then a fenced tunnel from the clubhouse building for the player’s entrance, and then beyond that what looks like a small carpark for players and officials and a communications mast.
The bar has seen better days, but there are three TV screens to keep upto date with scores from other matches at half-time. Drinks ( including two real ales from the nearby Marlow Brewery ) are served in plastic glasses to enable you to take outside and watch the match ( something allowed at the Conference South level and below ) and the noise level does seem to increase as the match goes on, and the level of beer imbibed increases….
There is a tea bar in one corner, with the tempting smell of burgers floating across the open Terrace but the toilets looked a bit grotty and thankfully I didn’t need to further investigate
If the match is dull, you can always watch the frequent trains above the embankment either speeding to/from London or the local trains chugging into Maidenhead Station. On a clear day, you can also watch the aircraft heading towards Heathrow Airport.
In summary, York Road is a piece of history, but it is really only for the hardcore fans ( like me ! ) . It’s a far cry from the luxury of The Emirates !
