Following a visit to the Turner Contemporary, we popped over to Ambrette restaurant for lunch. They had a special discount going. The manager was welcoming and was helpful in explaining the dishes available. The three course set lunch was prepared with care and attention to detail. The minted lamb sausage was the best I have ever had. The main dish of belly of pork was crispy on the top with succulent meat underneath. The mango kulfi was tasty and generous.
We were so impressed that the next day we visited their flagship restaurant at Canterbury and wished we had not. The affability of the manager could not compensate for the poor quality of food or the presentation. A pity.

I was recommended this place but a little disappointed. My mum liked her Haloumi dish but our veggie burgers were the same consistency as hummus and in dry bread .Good chips though .
The white chocolate cake was dry .
Not really suitable for an older person .

On a cold and wet winter day who doesn't want a bit of Caribbean Sunshine? From the smile of welcome, through the interesting cocktails to the deftly spiced food and finishing with a nice shot of rum this place will cheer you up immensely. Prices are very reasonable and from my experience of food in the Caribbean the flavours are pretty authentic, which is to say very tasty

Excellent food at a really competitive price. The restaurant itself is more like a cafe, but that has its own charm as you can watch as the chef prepares the food in a single wok, before your eyes. Great fun. Or you can order a takeaway and enjoy the sumptuous food at home. Either way you won't be disappointed.

Featured in the Waitrose Good Food Guide and Hardens restaurant guide 2016. We use fresh, local produce to Create our menu
Popped in here for a bite to eat and maybe a boozy do! I had the burger and the other half had a falafel salad. Absolutely delicious. Waitress was really great and found us the last two glasses of red. Also delicious. Finished with brownies on the way out (walnut & chocolate). A definite on your Margate munchies list.

Bow's Kitchen is discretely situated above the Wig & Pen pub in Margate's Old Town.We have all of the benefits of links with the pub, whilst being separated enough to allow private dining. We are a few minutes walk from the Turner Contemporary Gallery and the seafront. There is ample local parking, on-street and in controlled car parks. The restaurant is accessed via the staircase inside the bar.
I was privileged to have the christening of my Daughter at the Hakkasan (Michelin star Restaurant in London) and I thought that was amassing.
However last night Bow's Kitchen in Margate reminded me of what a real Thai food should taste like.
We ordered selection of starters plus the Chicken sour soup everything was to die for delicious.Main courses selections were just the icing on the cake fantastic I would
definitely return to this little Gem to enjoy the rest of the extensive Menu.

Delicious wood-fired pizza, the best coffee in Margate, gelato and wine.
Dropped in after 12 on a Saturday. Luckily a table for four was available. I'd say book to ensure a table. Nice decor with a retro feel. Really nice welcome and menus prompt to appear. Nice simple selection of pizzas. We ordered chorizo chilli, anchovy and margarita. Such a lovely base, reminiscent of pizza I had in baffetto in Rome. Crispy and delicious. I liked the boards, lack of cutlery and tearing my pizza. No problem with that. Good drop of wine and interesting soft drink selection for the kids. Can see why some reviewers might have issues with space, especially as place is so popular with families and kids. A juggernaut pram would be a nuisance here! I'm already planning my next visit and will book ahead to get a sea facing seat. Wish there was a go pizza in all towns, nice use of local produce and different to the chains. Lovely staff too. Book ahead to avoid disappointment.

Booked for Mothering Sunday. Arrived at 1pm. The outside really doesn't look appealing. Located on a busy junction. Free parking next door after 5pm.
Walk inside, what a difference. It is lovely, a real gem. Great lighting, lovely decor and the Seating is leather and modern.
Staff helpful and friendly.
Poppadoms, not the freshest.
Starters, crab cakes and chicken in mustard. Both plates were identical apart from the main part. So it looked as if the plates were pre prepared with the same sauces, salad etc. Having said that, the salad was really fresh and tasty, nice to see.
The crab tasted of, well, crab. The chicken of chicken marinated in mustard. Both acceptably nice.
Mains were the Staff chicken and the Kofta.
If I were staff I may have sent it back! Three chicken legs with some new potatoes with skin on.
We have eaten plenty of curries on the bone and we have never been given three chicken legs. That was a bit of an insult if you also look at the cost. But the lack of taste. There was some spice but please, give me a different cut with some proper spicing.
The kofta was a tad dry. Four bits in an awful lot of onion. There was spice but not delicious.
Bombay aloo, acceptable but simple. Tarka dhal, ok but nothing to write home about.
Beer, Bangla, nice.
After all the reviews I expected far, far more. I have been let down sufficiently not to return, and then it was over £60 for two. Well, that would be London prices at a trendy place (and we have done several of those).
There are other choices in Thanet and I would rather return to them.
Sorry, but you have lost me because you offered so much but failed to deliver.
