We went here 4 times in 1 week, I think that tells the story. Great burgers, good pizza. On Christmas eve, we had the fondue menu. Although not too expensive, the meat was not much and nothing special. All in all the menu was good. The next time we tried the grilled shrimps (loved them!), burgers (great!), pizza (Calzone was ok, others were good). Staff is very friendly. Make sure you book cause it can be crowdy since it is popular. They have a nice rooftop Terrace in the sun with a great view. They also bree their own local beer. AND they serve "real" Coke!

To get to this restaurant you have to climb the hill to Gmünd Castle (Alte Burg) and negotiate some stone staircases and corridors. The restaurant is appointed as a traditional Austrian "Stube". But the real attraction is the outside porch where you can sit at a table with a view over charming Gmünd Town. The specialty of this restaurant is anything with Spätzle (a kind of egg noodles). We had a good sit-down; the beer was cold and the service of the staff was OK.

Restaurant Gasthof Prunner is situated in a historic building, half integrated in the medieval "Stadtturm" (City Gate). The appointment of the restaurant is nice and soothing, borrowing from the medieval atmosphere of the charming city of Gmünd. Service of the staff is good, even a bit formal and prices are reasonable. This we remembered from our previous visit to Gmünd; that's why we selected Gasthof Prunner for dinner on our first evening of our stay in Gmünd. Alt the things we remembered were the same, but unfortunately, the food served could only be described as average, not so tasty as at our previous visit. Attendance of Gasthof Prunner, compared with other restaurants on the Hauptplatz, seemed not so good either, when we observed the outdoor Seating areas of Prunner's competitors when we took a walk after dinner. What is happening here?

On an overcast day, we stopped at Cafe Nussbaumer for cappuccino and dessert. The display cases at the entrance were full of delightful treats. It was hard to pick just one. We had Apple strudel and ice cream with cappuccino. Great service and atmosphere, reasonably priced and delicious! I would recommend and return.

A must try. If you are not picky with the ingredients, you really can't go wrong, deliciously baked potatoes will blow your mind. Garlic soup is one of my favourites as well. Highly recommended.

This is one of our favourite places to visit especially when we have guests or are meeting up with friends.. In the summer there is Seating on the balcony which has magnificent views over Seeboden. As the evenings draw in there is plenty of room inside. It is traditionally decorated and very, very clean.
The menu is varied with many local specialities. Good portion sizes.
The staff are very friendly and attentive.
Highly recommended.

We arrived here after riding at nockalmstrasse. It was a rather cold day, a Sunday. The restaurant hosted a family event so we were not sure we could eat there. Despite the language barrier they made us feel at home. The meal was a-m-a-z-I-n-g !!! Local dishes, huge portions, fresh salad, quick service. We loved every minute.
