I was here for business the other week and we were with a large group. Other than the beautiful location next to the canal, it is easy to find, there is more than enough parking space and ding areas are very nostalgic. Other than that, friendly staff that know all about the menu and the food itself is just great. I dont know how many stars this restaurant has but it should be at least 4. Good sized portions, nothing is overdone (as in oily, salty or extreme flavors) so i was severely impressed.

This restaurant is ideally located, has friendly staff and the food is good. This deserves a better score than 'average', but... management has introduced a new policy where main dishes that come with a complimentary salad or french fries, suddenly are charged a supplement of EUR 2,50 if your dining partner chooses a different option (salad or fries). This is not clear from their menu and was not mentioned in the ordering process. This practice is intransparant and doesn't really fit the ambiance of Restaurant OpBuuren. To the management we would say: reconsider this policy and/or the unclarity of it on your menu. In any case never charge an amount that isn't listed on your menu anywhere. At the end customers leave your restaurant with a bad taste in their mouths. Or do you want to incourage people to ask for separate checks?

Ok, so up front, I don't like all you can eat wok places. I don't like stuffing myself, I don't like everybody walking around, interrupting a good conversation.
Good points: free parking, kids play area available, nice entrance, demonstration of noodle making
Bad points: big, food subpar (though kind of part of the course for all you can eat), location not very nice

Can't comment on the general dining hall experience as we had a group room for ourselves. Fabulous 3-course dinner, nicely decorated plates, and good options for veggies too. Helpful waiters/waitresses responding quickly to all requests; okay, at end one forgot to bring a 2nd drink but that is nitpicking. Strongly recommended, bistro prices in a setting-straight-from-a-movie near the river and food almost Michelin level!

Some dishes are presented in a non-traditional Greek way.
Quantities are right (never too much) and quality is definitely above the usual Greek restaurants, here you can taste fresh food and great combination of flavors, a bit of nouvelle cuisine sticking to the Mediterranean style.
The location is right in the center of a village (Maarssen), next to the canal.
Inside, there are not too many tables, which will allow you to enjoy dinner in a pleasant and clean restaurant.
Service is very kind and efficient.

Being Chinese in ethnicity and hearing Cantonese being spoken, I especially asked for certain dishes, but they didn't have. Was still very happy with the buffet selection, until something was not right and I got quite a gastro. If you really know and enjoy authentic Chinese food - do not come here.

At the Vecht riverside in the small harbour you will find a restaurant, popular with boat people. Service is friendly but not well suited for a crowded Terrace. The same for the food: good quality but 13 dishes in a dozen. Go there for a drink and without expectations for some outstanding work of the chef.

We were there for my birthday and it was fantastic. Nice food, nice employees. Even the "chef" came to us to explain the meal. He also, because my baby was crying, offered to hurry the dishes so we can leave earlier. The price was higher than normal restaurant but still....

Auguste has fantastic food. Worth a Michelin! Interesting enough the young dynamic and sympathetic owner does not want one, keen on keeping the informal and cozy atmosphere intact.
Nevertheless, go to Auguste with high expectations. You will not be disappointed!
While having this great dinner last week, we came to know that Auguste will switch to be a full fish restaurant within a month. We cannot wait!

After being denied at 'malle jan' on account of they don't allow dogs inside, we stumbled upon Asian Delight, and what a treat we received!!
At Asian Delight, a neighborhood scale Chinese Indonesian specialty restaurant like you find them all over The Netherlands for decades, dogs are welcome and even receive their own bowl of water.
We were seated in the pleasantly filled restaurant without prior reservation and ordered various dishes: mum got an 'Indische Rijsttafel', Indonesian specialities combined into a set menu.
I enjoyed various Chinese, Japanese and Indonesian dishes from the all-you-can-eat a-la-carte formula (absolute recommendation!!) which also includes a soup and a dessert (I skipped the soup and chose Dame Blanche as dessert.)
The food was far above expectations (that goes for both of us) even if the siu mai was not a special one and the dame blanche used the cheaper ingredients (still tasty though) but all the rest was simply put exquisite!!
The restaurant is an absolute must visit and we will be sure to return - even if it is far out of our way!
