The town center of Breukelen is marked by the 'Kerkbrink' where the weekly market is (on Fridays), the restaurants, the bookshop+tourist office et cetera. If you come from the Kerkbrink and turn left at the end this gallery is in a very short walking distance. It is a hidden gem. The pictures will tell the story. When in Breukelen and interested in art, don't skip this place!

The castle is right amidst nature, still carries the grandeur of 13th Century. Rose Garden and little water channel sorrounding the castle adds up.

Mooie bezoekwaardige kleine kerk, midden in Breukelen.

This is a nice little park in the town of Breukelen. It is rather small, but so is the town. There are some benches, wooded area a lawn and you can walk around the 'Boom en Bosch' building (former city hall) to get to the garden that is facing the river Vecht. That is a beautiful part of it. Also with additional Seating. In the Fall/Autumn there is the 'poffertjeskraam' that serves delicious Dutch poffertjes (stacks of tiny pancakes with butter and powdered sugar). Yummy! And in the summer a foundation organizes weekly music Performances in the park on Sunday. That is mainly in July and August. They even will provide garden chairs to sit in and enjoy the music. The Concerts are free. There is food/drinks for sale and a lottery for which you can buy tickets in the intermission. Usually the first performance is from 2pm to 3pm and the second performance is from 3:15pm to 4pm(ish). Both Fall and Summer activities are a bonus to going to this park.

The blue and white 'VVV' sign in Breukelen directs you to the local bookshop. The shop has books, magazines and office supplies. The VVV / tourist information section is in a certain part of the shop. There are maps and books on the region. The staff is friendly and will help you find what you need.

In a bend of the Laan van Gunterstein is the public entrance to this park. It is lovely with meadows and trees. The way up to it is not so nice because it is a shared road with pedestrians, people riding their bike, motorcycles and cars have to share the road. As a pedestrian you are the weakest part of traffic. The road is relatively narrow and when cars coming from both ways, it is kind of scary. The park itself is good for a relaxing walk. The public part is separated by a small 'no entrance' sign on a chain from the part that is restricted because it is in use by the family that owns the park and the castle. It is great that the family does share the park with the public. Chapeau! The rating 'average' is because of the scary road (for pedestrians) to the park and the lack of parking (so you have to walk to get there; and that is scary).

Relatively small gallery with a funny (Dutch) pun in its name (there is a saying: 'Lood om oud ijzer'/'lead for old iron'; meaning that it doesn't matter, is just the same). The opening times are on the door and on the website, but that doesn't mean that they stick to it.

The fort is on an island which is not accessible without a boat. The area is pleasant. It makes for something interesting to look at as you walk past.
