A captivating contrast of old and new, Luxembourg City's past is celebrated by its World Heritage status; its present sway by its position as headquarters for several significant European institutions. Small enough to explore on foot, this compact city offers a wealth of attractions, including dramatic promontory The Bock, underground passages in Petrusse Casemates, Palace of the Grand Dukes and the National Museum. Countless banks on Boulevard Royal, once a fortress moat, hint at the duchy's wealth.

Expectations are always high when visiting Michelin starred restaurants and overall this did not disappoint. We were celebrating a birthday and they made a special effort to bring chocolate cake with a candle instead of the desert on the tasting menu. Hors d’oeuvres were most disappointing part. Duck, langoustine and pork were all delightful. Wine paring subtle.
Areas for improvement glasses were whisked away before they had been finished, level or service wasn’t impeccable (spilt wine; wrong water brought, waiting for explanation of dishes) and uniforms of the staff were tired/didn’t fit.
In summary what comes out of the kitchen is beautiful and maybe it was just the temporary surroundings that let it down.

Given the high tripadvisor ratings we were looking forward to find a new decent chinese restaurant in Luxembourg. However, we were quickly disappointed. The menu was that of a standard chinese restaurant and the now food not particulary tasty. Service was not espescially friendly, however super quick. So at least we were done in less than an hour...

The place is well located in the center. But finding a parking spot is challenging. You can easily park in the side streets or some meters from the restaurant, but girls in heels and parents with small children might find it difficult. The environment is cozy and comfortable, though small. The food is fresh, they serve a great variety of sushis on the buffet and several other things among dumpling, duck and crab. I also saw other people ordering big trays with a big variation as well. Everything is fresh and delicious. What mostly caught my attention were the waiters and the manager. They are all absurdly friendly and nice. Always smiling and making jokes just to make you welcome. They also bring some treats to customers' table so you can taste different things. The price is very cheap, specially for the all-you-can-eat, so I strongly recommend that you visit. The place is great for couples, small groups of friends and to dine alone.

La Locanda is the restaurant attached to the Pax Hotel. The Italian food was very good and reasonably priced, and the waitress and manager went out of their way to ensure my wife, who has celiac, had gluten-free options, including both pasta and bread. We enjoyed it and would go back.

We came here for a dinner on a Friday night. We received a very warm welcome and were served very attentively throughout the whole evening. The food we had was delicious (chateaubriand for two people very recommended!) and quantities were generous! We will be back!

We arrived around 6:10 on a Wednesday night with no reservation. The restaurant filled up fast and by 7pm they were turning away people that did not have a reservation. Nice decor, Indian music playing in the background. We were given free pompadoms and chutneys. We started with the vegetable samosas and the cheese naan. The samosas were average and my wife didn't care for the cheese naan but I thought it was alright. I ordered the chicken Madras which had a great flavor and the chicken was very fresh. My wife ordered the paneer saag and asked for it to be extra spicy and it was. They had Cobra beers on offer and they were cold and delicious. By 7:15 the place was packed and there were two servers and without my knowing, when we first arrived, and again without a reservation, my wife had slipped the server a candle and told him it was my birthday and told him to slip the candle in one of the dishes we ordered. When it didn't happen my wife had assumed he had forgotten because the restaurant had become so busy. When we finished our meals I asked for the check and was waiting to pay and leave. When all of a sudden the waiter showed up at the table with Ice cream, fruit and wafers with the candle lit singing Happy birthday to me. Needless to say we were both speechless. To the young man at the New Delhi restaurant, thank you for making my birthday/holiday special. We highly recommend.

We decided to give Athena a try on a Friday evening. We made Reservations ahead of time. Once we arrived, we were seated quickly. The restaurant is large by Luxembourg standards. The wait staff spoke adequate English (which is good since my French is poor, and I speak no other language). We ordered a hot appetiser plate. It was good. My husband ordered a lamb dish, my son ordered a kebab plate, and I ordered a chicken dish. All were good. They came with salad which I would say was my least favourite part of the meal. The dressing was heavy and too much for the amount of salad on the plate. It didn't taste house made either. All in all, the meal was good, but I am not sure we will be back.

The restaurant is located in route de Thionville (Bonnevoie) and their main specialties are Bengali and Indian food (focused on the Mughlai cuisine, that combines cooking styles and recipes of Central Asia and North India). Certainly the decoration of the place is very simplistic and austere (but overall the place is very clean) , but not a major issue since the owners will make the atmosphere very good. At Orchidee the focus is clearly on food, serving high quality food at a very good price, which is the most important thing at the end of the day. I have been told that their main specialty was the chicken tikka masala (tandoor baked marinated chicken cooked in creamy tandoori sauce), so I went for it. I also had some Naan's (cheese and normal). I tried quite a few Indian restaurants in Luxembourg and this one is a special one.The chicken was just fresh and amazing, creamy, properly cooked (very tender) and with just the right touch of flavors. I felt actually really light after leaving the restaurant which usually is not always the case when eating in other places in Luxembourg. The Naan’s breads are a blast, probably one of the best you will experience in Luxembourg and so was the mango lassi we got offered, very light and refreshing. Now the second best part, the service, what can i say it was outstanding. The homely hospitality of Mr. and Mrs. Roy (the owners), will make you feel like home. They certainly know how to take care of clients. The only downside would be that is not always easy to find a parking spot, but somehow you always manage to find one around. Would recommend it to everyone who loves good quality Indian food since it is most definitely one of the best (if not the best) Indian restaurants in Luxembourg.
