Lublin Voivodeship, or Lublin Province (in Polish, województwo lubelskie [vɔjɛˈvut͡stfɔ luˈbɛlskʲɛ]), is a voivodeship, or province, located in southeastern Poland. It was created on January 1, 1999, out of the former Lublin, Chełm, Zamość, Biała Podlaska and (partially) Tarnobrzeg and Siedlce Voivodeships, pursuant to Polish local government reforms adopted in 1998. The province is named after its largest city and regional capital, Lublin, and its territory is made of four historical lands: the western part of the voivodeship, with Lublin itself, belongs to Lesser Poland, the eastern part of Lublin Area belongs to Red Ruthenia, and the northeast belongs to Polesie and Podlasie.

Piekarnia Sarzynski is a very well-known bakery located in the little town called Kazimierz Dolny, more or less 80 km south from Warsaw. It is not in the center of the town, but it is not far away. Here you can taste the authentic famous bread roosters, because it is the place, where they were invented. So, we buy both of them and ate them every day to breakfast: they are good, but not a delight. Taste it is recommendable, but not essential. Moreover, you can drink a chocolate or eat some pastries.

Mandragora is a restaurant located in Lublin Old Town that serves Jewish cuisine. All dishes in our menu are cautiously selected so that, to the extent possible, they reflect the nature of traditional Jewish cuisine. We prepare them exclusively from the best quality ingredients and based on old, pre-war recipes. At the same time we care of the visit in Mandragora so that it is not only a culinary experience but also a cultural one, that is why we obey Jewish customs concerning the preparation of dishes, and the interior in our restaurant was inspired by the rich cultural tradition of the pre-war Jewish Lublin. You are welcome!
As Jewish restaurants usually offer good cooking we decided to visit Mandragora for an evening meal during our stay in Lublin. The staff was unduly polite, the food was quite nice (zander fish served with nuts went well with white wine), we spent a pleasant evening there.
Frankly saying, later on we were surprised to read that Mandragora was ranked number one in Lublin city. On the other hand, it was much better than Magia (ranked numer 3) which we visited for a dinner on the previous evening...

The food is awesome, fresh stuff, cooked in a very traditional manner. Normal prices for Poland, very cheap for West europeans. Very nice traditional atmosphere, all decorations bring you back some centuries. Waitress must smile little bit more and try struggle to improve she's english skills, but at the end was a good evening. Fully recommend.

Magia’s atmosphere is eclectic; there are numerous vibes to choose from throughout the warren of dining rooms and its large outdoor courtyard.
Visited late on a Sunday afternoon and had a superb meal there was a large dining area with the tables well spaced so your conversation couldn't be overheard by your neighbours. The food was excellent, the portion size was perfect to enjoy a three course meal and was very good value for money.

Identifying this restaurant in TripAdvisor, we found it located in a basement across the road from our hotel. Not having a reservation, we gingerly descended the outside staircase to find ourselves in a splendidly laid out and decorated series of rooms. We were allocated a table in an alcove. The furnishings were dark coloured and of a high quality. We had three courses each. My zurek soup - equipped with quail egg - was some of the best I have tasted in Poland this past 12 years. We each followed with zander, as the only fish on the menu that night. But nicely presented. I finished with the cheesecake ; unusual design as I hope my picture shows. We had a (I think) South African white wine. Again good. Service throughout was efficient and attentive. I hesitate to give 5* when writing reports but this meal came out on top during our 8 days in Poland this time.

I used to frequent this restaurant a lot, prior to the renovation. The food can be hit or miss now, some things are much better than others, we had steak and duck, which seemed to be fine.
However, they have some 50% off promotion for bar service alcohol so the place is terribly noisy at times and full of a younger bar crowd, none of which are eating.
The place needs to decide if it wants to go back to its roots, a good restaurant for a good meal, or a rowdy student bar. I will revisit once the identity crisis is over.

During summer the summer garden, where you can admire the old town and watch Zamojska cultural events, ie. Concerts, Performances and the like. Bohemians - the same word introduced to the amazing, enigmatic atmosphere. Analyzing the etymological origin is derived from French and means bohemians, and exactly the artistic community. The above-mentioned group was characterized by a controversial views, having many characteristics of modernist. Bohemians does not mean the same community, it is a freedom in the broader intellectual reasoning, where the creator / artist is not limited by any standards or conventions. Otherwise it can be defined as the freedom of the soul, thus triggering creativity and any interpretation of the world around them, in their own individual way. Bohemian environment generally characterized by great openness, and its members represent different views, making it even more interesting.
Yes, we wish we could've sat in the cellar, but because it was a fine day when we arrived for our early dinner, they weren't serving indoors. But the outdoor setting on the square was lovely. The pierogi were delicious. The trout was excellent. And the sundaes were worth flying to Poland for! What a delight and a luxury to be able to enjoy a meal here, topped off with such a luscious dessert. I can only believe that I did something good in a prior life, to be able to deserve this.

It's not a Michellin star experience. But you will eat well (vegetarians and meat eaters will be happy) and cheap. Genuine polish country cuisine, great service and lazy atmosphere makes this place suitable to pop in and have a meal.
We where there during summer, picked it "randomly" on our way from Kazimierz. We locked our bikes and stayed there for a while, enjoying our food, chatting with host and feeling happy not to be in crowded Kazimierz.
Just try it;)

Attentive Service and warm and cozy on a cold, rainy day. Food was consistent with game dishes and traditional fare. Short walk from main square.
