We visited for dinner in August 2017 (we were not staying in the Plockton Inn). The restaurant was GREAT! The specials dissapeared from the blackboard quickly, for good reason. I went for the prawns as a main, and I was not dissapointed! The food was excellent, the staff were friendly, and the portions were filling, well-priced, and nicely presented. Parking was no problem. I would recommend making a reservation, as it was completely full on the night that we visited (although it was mid-Summer!). I an heartily recommend this restaurant.

After their annual holiday closure Plockton Shores reopened for this season two days ago. Had another wonderful lunch there today. Imaginative food, well presented and very good value. BUT like we dud do reserve your table before going. Plockton looked lovely today and this restaurant made our day trip from Portree really memorable.

Situated in the Highlands of Scotland, we serve beautiful fresh local seafood, prepared simply for the fullest natural flavour.
We've been coming to the Kishorn Seafood Bar for years, attracted by the delicious fresh seafood - especially the squatties- but also the warm and friendly staff who made it such an unpretentious treat. How things have changed! Calling in for lunch today after a very long journey, we entered a tense room ( it is very small) and were made to feel extremely unwelcome from the start. An abrupt "we're very busy now" was all the woman in charge could muster clearly unable to cope with a fairly full cafe. When my partner asked if we could have a squatty or prawn roll (our regular choice here for years when not planning to sit down for a long lunch) we were told by the same woman, in what seemed rather a supercilious tone, that we couldn't expect them to peel our seafood for us - suggesting somehow that we were probably incapable of doing it ourselves!! Incensed by her rudeness, I suggested to my partner that we should go somewhere else - she then retorted that we'd probably be much happier at a cafe down the road that would serve us a nice bowl of soup!! In fact we went to the Waterside Cafe at Lochcarron where a friendly and super-efficient woman made us a delicious Sandwich bursting with juicy prawns in a couple of minutes. We knew the Kishorn Seafood Bar was up for sale - it seems either the new owners have no knowledge of how to provide satisfactory customer service or something has gone very wrong with the management of this once delightful cafe. What a shame!!

We were advised to go here and we're so pleased we did. Probably the best meal of our NC500 tandem adventure. Great service and really tasty food

Ate here on the second day of our stay in Lochcarron. I had the crab cakes with onion rings instead of chips (fab), and my husband ordered lasagne and cheesy chips. (To die for.) You also get to make friends with the hotel's black labs who wander about quite the thing. Nice wine and beer selection.

Quality, quiet, friendly atmosphere, high quality dining with local used where ever possible. All front facing rooms have a loch view, plenty of private parking.Registered with the scottish tourist boardand awarded 4 star status in August 2011. Available for weekly lets , with or without catering. Ideal for groups of friends and families wishing to share quality accommodation with a few hidden extras.
Ate here first week in September. Lovely people and food was first class. Recommend the sea food dishes really good. Desserts are on the generous side so be prepared for calorie overload!!! Prices are slightly on the high side but overall a really nice experience.

We stopped here for brunch after driving over the Bealach na Ba (not a great day for views!). They kindly did hubby a cooked breakfast, even though there was only 5 to go before the cut off! I had the Scottish pancake with banana, maple syrup and cream. Delicious! Not the healthy option but I needed to boost sugar levels after driving over the pass. (This route shows up all the people who a) don't know the width of their vehicle, b) can't reverse, or c) both). Friendly service and great food. Interesting gallery too with some lovely artwork.
