In the centre of the city, near the place which is rightly called Liepaja heart Rozu square, there is a jouful restaurant "Barons Bumbiers" with rich and traditional Latvian cuisinewhere you will always be waited in the shopping centre "Kurzeme". Menu is for every gourmand to know and to evaluate Latvian traditional cuisine delicacies that surprise with variety of meals made by masterly cooks.
Went there with my son for quick lunch. Soup I wanted was not available, so I ordered mushroom soup. For some reason my son got his food fast, yet soup was a long wait. It was tasty but without any salt at all. Waiter was apologetic and nice though.Would I recommend? Probably not, you can find better places in Liepaja to eat.

The "cili Pica" offers 55 types of picas, main courses, salads, Deserts as well as snacks for beer. Children have a special menu with dishes, which are not only tasty, but also fun and stimulates their appetite.Pizza, pasta, kebabs, soups, salads, desserts
Had lunch here with 2 friends. It reminded me a little of the 'Happy' restaurant chain found in the Balkans. Quite a good range of dishes - pizzas, burgers, wraps, but also traditional dishes and soups, salads/healthier foods too. The 'Jungle' tea (which came hot, which was a surprise as I thought i'd ordered ice tea!) was good!
My kebab wrap took longer than my friends' orders, so my friend had finished his pizza by the time I started - not so good.
Prices are reasonable.
Lunchtime on a Saturday is obviously a busy time, but we got a table ok, no waiting.

Brand new place in town!!! Nice
Every time we travel to Liepaja, we visit Olive.
Great selection of foods, no matter how fussy food eater you are, you will find something.
I was very pleased with customer service at olive, staff are great.
Very pleasant atmosphere. In general design of this restaurant is beautiful, can't forget to mention comfortable seats.
I will be definitely returning back to Olive.

This place was rated as basically one of the top restaurants in Liepaja so I decided to treat myself for dinner that evening. The service was fine, though slow which I think is common in Latvia. My dinner was OK - thankfully it wasn't expensive but it was rather bland.
I started out with a Liepaja cocktail - it was fairly sweet and I probably wouldn't order it again. Cocktails are strictly measured out in Latvia and it tasted like juice. I wasn't overly hungry so I skipped a starter and went into the main course. The fried chicken with zucchini casserole and bleu cheese sauce sounded great. It had so much potential but was really so bland. The casserole means basically eggs with zucchini bits in them, and the blue cheese sauce just tasted like cream. The chicken, however, was wonderful.
Overall, I know I didn't have a large sampling of the menu. Liepaja is short on great restaurants since it's so small, so this is definitely a safe choice. Perhaps something more local is a better idea next time. Regardless, you will enjoy your meal here.

The restaurant is known for it's international cuisine and friendly service. Every customer that comes through the restaurant door is either a friend or will become one. Either its a quick lunch in the middle of your day, or a leisure evening with your friends while drinking wine - "Upe" will always guarantee the appropriate atmosphere and service. Every weekday restaurant offers a business lunch - a quick, but very nourishing meal - great solution for business meetings.Restaurant "Upe" also offers new celebrations and conference hall of hotel "Liva" 1st floor. Spacious and cozy room is equipped with a sophisticated and contemporary design, and is able to accommodate up to 80 guests. Pleasant environment combined with excellent service will make you an important event memorable.
The food was really good. However, we had to wait quite a bit, even thou the restaurant was almost empty. 3 girls at the bar were also quite nice and seemed professional, but there were some moments where they were more busy with internal talk....MoreThank you for the review and input. We apologise for the long wait and we will try to improve so that your next visit is perfect.

Pros: Tasty food, cozy, mid-priced Cons: One waiter therefore slow service, they served dorada fillet instead of whole fish!

I ended up here after watching the sunset on the beach - I wasn't ready for bed and I read this place was good for a beer.
Honestly, this place gets 5 stars for service alone. They had a few local beers on tap and I asked which one she recommended and I got a sampling of all of them! I was shocked - what service! I also ordered some peanut butter pie, which was very tasty.
I enjoyed my beer that I selected from my tasting, and my dessert as well. It was fairly tame when I was there (I heard it gets busy) but overall, this is a great place to have a coffee or a beer and just relax. Great job ladies.

While this is a bakery with few chairs not a restaurant we found the cakes to be VERY tasty and of ridiculously low prices. Nothing fancy like some posh bakeries have but the stuff they have is amazing. Cakes with filling are stuffed to the rim, etc. - not what you see usually with cost cutting. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful dinner here after a concert at a nearby church. I'd describe the menu as continental with a Latvian accent. The wine list was fine, the salads and seafood entrees were excellent, and a great value compared to the beef (which can be fairly pricey in Eastern Europe). Try a smoked fish appetizer, and for dessert, the chocolate ball with hot black currant sauce!
