Winner of "Quindío sabor y descanso" award with its traditional "cazuela cuyabra", if you want to enjoy the best typical food and seasoning Rancho Eden restaurant has everything you want.
Ambiance was very nice food was good but not great. The Solomo Balsámico and Langostinos al Ajillo were the best of the meals that we ordered. The Punta Ancha, Salmon a la Parilla and Tongue were quite ordinary. Kids also ordered chocolate milk that seemed to have little chocolate though they did improve on it when we asked for it to be redone. We went on a rainy night so did not have the option to use all the facilities on offer for the kids. All in all a nice place.

I have visited this restaurant three times since returning to Armenia. I have had the sandwiches, trout and salmon dinners, soups and the excellent key lime pie. Also, I purchases my coffee and cookies here as the price is 1,000 to 3,000 less than the mercados. Also, a good wine selection.

Cute little town not far from Parque del Cafe. Restaurant is cute, non-descript from the outside. They know how to make arepas. Stuffed with a variety of meats, veggies and cheese, they are perfectly made. Sauces that accompany the food are savory and nicely prepared. Open windows. On a nice little street. Worth a visit.

En un hermoso rincón del mirador del Quindío, el Restaurante Río Azul lo espera para ofrecerle deliciosos platos a la parrilla, acompañados del mejor paisaje que tiene el Departamento del Quindío y de un acogedor y hogareño servicio.
This restaurant is worth the out-of-the-way trip to Buenavista. The menu features a variety of choices. I had trucha ajillo, my wife had a vegetarian platter. Both were superb: very fresh, with excellent side dishes. The restaurant also offers delicious juices. The service was friendly and efficient. Reasonable prices.

Yes, the coffee is spectacular--espresso, Americano, cold-brewed, and even "farmer's coffee" with panela, cinnamon, and a clove. Yes, this is the real superior Colombian coffee, the kind you won't find in Juan Valdez or Oma. Yes, the banana cake filled with guava is spectacular. Yes, the fruit juices and limonade de coco are beyond fresh. Yes, sitting in the open window of the Cafe de Altura on a breezy corner is an excellent way to watch the life of Quimbaya pass by. But it is the sparkling atmosphere of the shop and friendly welcome of Alejandra (who speaks excellent English) that made our family of 4 visit twice--once after a tour of the Finca de la Vieja with Alejandra's twin brother Santiago, and a second time for a final espresso before leaving coffee country.

You won't find Café Concorde right off the superhighway. You'll have to go to Colombia and then drive down a narrow winding road next to lush Forests, coffee plantations, and farms growing plantains. But everything about it is worth the trip!
Café Concorde (closest large city is Armenia, Colombia) sits up in the beautiful Mountains west of Bogota in the Western branch of the Andes. This is the prime coffee growing area of the country.
We were lucky enough to be taken there by a good Colombian friend who lives in Armenia. She was born in this wonderful area of the country (one of my favorite regions of Colombia), and, take it from me, she knows coffee! When she said that the drive was not only beautiful, but the coffee the best she has ever had, I was ready to go!
The Café Concorde is newly constructed and sits in the plantation where this estate grown coffee is harvested. The café has an indoor area which opens to a large patio with tables covered by umbrellas. The view from this height looking over the lush Forests and farms is absolutely beautiful. I could have spent many hours with my wife and our friend drinking coffee and taking in the quiet, peaceful, scenic environment.
The coffee was as wonderful as we were told it would be. The café has a gift shop; you will be a hit with friends if you bring them back some vacuum packed coffee (and don't forget some for yourselves -- you won't be finding this at the local grocery back home).
In addition to coffee, the café serves homemade desserts. We loved the lemon frosted pistachio and poppy cake. It was superb with that coffee.
Colombians are warm and polite people; it was no surprise that the staff were as nice as the surroundings. One young man spoke excellent English. We had a fascinating conversation about the plantation and coffee growing in the region; his presence added to a very nice afternoon in the Mountains.
Besides the wonderful coffee and people, this area of Colombia is safe and is fast becoming an eco-tourism destination. I have met people from many countries who have "found" this part of Colombia. It is a worthwhile destination for many reasons.

Good traditional "pollo a la carreta" and I think everyone who visit the area should try it at least once. The place is nice an welcoming, however they have to improve on service and the place is not very clean. For the once who don't keno what is "pollo a la carreta" it is a chicken cooked with plantain leaves on the oven, very taste and soft.

We stopped by Cafe Concorde while visiting friends in the area. From what we hear, the restaurant is full to capacity over the weekend, but we stopped by on a Thursday and it was perfect, relaxing and beautiful.
We all tried different coffee and dessert and everything was delicious.
Also, love the coffee art on the mochaccino!
