Pica Mar Adentro doesn't look promising from the road, but once you are in there is a clean, modern restaurant, professionally-administered with quite good seafood. It's important to realize that the portions are really quite large and you should look for opportunities to share. The...MoreThanks for your opinion welcome back any time

Had dinner there. Awful experience.
The only positives.
The setting is beautiful and the vista of the beach great, that where the positives end.
The negatives.
Ordered a steak and salad for 2.
Waiter offhand - took over an hour for medium rare steaks to arrive.
They must be on commission because they try to upsell you all the time while you are waiting.
As we threatened to walk out miraculously the food arrived.
Steak tough, charred (not medium rare) - matched the service.
Vegetable side order miniscule and cold.
Waiters rude. Manager the same.
Did not tip and left half the food behind. Expensive and disappointing.
Go there at your peril there are many other lovely restaurants in this area.

I went there in early September I enjoyed very much the sea food I had. It was well prepared, excellent taste and well presented. Main dishes have fancy names so you need to request description. The service was also very good. I highly recommend it when you are visiting La Serena

The restaurant is nice. Good and fresh sea food. Worth having a meal there. Coquimbo is not that far from La Serena.

I visited Tio Coco when looking for somewhere I hadn't eaten before on the La Serena beach area. The reviews looked good and I wasn't disappointed. While at first glance you might wonder, as it's set back from the beach among other small restaurants, what it's like. The food was Chilean and very good and the service friendly and quick.

On the recommendation of the hosts of our boutique hotel, we braved the Saturday night beach traffic congestion to find this appealing resto that offers a wide variety of fish and seafood. It is nicely furnished, including cushions on the chairs (a rarity in Chile!). Service was slow to start, but then excellent. We tried abalone for the first time; it was nicely presented, but was as chewy as beefsteak! The potatoes "salteado" were excellent. The avocado salad would have been excellent if all of the avocado (a Chilean specialty) had been fully ripe. For the first time in half a dozen meals in Chile, the fish was overcooked. The resto had plenty of seats when we arrived at 9:30pm, but was fully packed with a waiting line when we left at 11:00pm. The real charcoal grill was full of meat being prepared for happy diners. Obviously a popular place, and apparently one of the best on the beach strip. We had a pleasant meal, but would not return.

Make sure you order the REGIONAL coastal fishes (pescados de roca) (apañado, rollizo, vieja, pichihuen, etc) anf of course another local delicacy Chochas, now so in vogue in fine restaurants in Santiago. Erizos gallore!! and plenty more. Excellent Don Mario. One advise bathroom facilities need to ne improve.

We visited because of the name, as we come from Liverpool, and had a beer and a Sandwich. It was pleasant Bar Food we could have got from most bars, but it really was pretty good. Have been to much worse places. Very pleasant staff who coped with the lack of Spanish from ourselves admirably.
