Excellent, excellent food, presentation, wine choice and kindness of the staff. With a pleasant, informal atmosphere, this restaurant offers a varied, simple, yet sophisticated menu with local ingredients. The meat is tender and delicious. The wine cellar includes the most expensive wines as well as typically local bottles that have nothing to envy the most famous ones. It is the ideal place for a family meal but also for an informal business dinner. The nice surprise is the bill at the end. The right amount for excellent quality.

Nice staff and one of the best pizza here. Desert are also very good and the place is very nice. They have very decent (low) prices.

a good place to stop for a home brewed beer or two. The food, although the menu is comprehensive, is rather average though. In the area there are better places to eat, this is just a pub in our opinion even if it might like to be a restaurant. Size wise it may look like one. We normally stop for a beer before dinner, then we go eat elsewhere.

Also A Guest House, Family Run Since 1770
We had a group lunch; fresh roasted veal, delicious fresh vegetables, soup, and a dessert of a light pudding with plums. All washed down with tasty wine. Very good and worth a detour. It is also close to the Lipizaner horse centre.

This is very good restaurant where every dish has its own unique combination of presentation and taste. Both working well together.
Make sure you taste the duck tagliatta, or young pork leg - brilliant . The gnocchi with different soucess are just perfect addition on your plate.
Angus stakes were a bit disappointing as the taste was just not what I have expected.
The home made icecream is just perfect finish to nice dinning.
Highly recommended yet a bit to pricy so expect to pay premium.

This restaurant offers really good eating (traditional) eating. Prices are for every budget. Lovely staff, talking slovenian, english, german and italian (I'm not sure but I think other languages too). A wonderful Walnut tree wits for you in the backyard ... try the homemade pasta with truffle or gnocchi with sauce! Talking about meat ... look outside along the road ... this is the best choiche

Went for a quick lunch, ordered a pepper sauce filet mignon to go w/ some roast potatoes and a small coke. Spent 20€ overall.
Although I wasn't greeted with much enthusiasm upon arrival, I was seated quite promptly. Coke also arrived immediately.
When it came to food, potatoes weren't bad at all and came in large quantity. Meat was neither abundant, nor tender, with the "pepper sauce" feeling like standard mustard sauce w/ some random pepper corns scattered in it. Dish overall didn't taste right. Might just have been unfortunate, but I definitely had much better meals in Slovenia.
When it came to paying the bill, waiter was busy at the phone. I had to wait for his call to end (he didn't show much interest in me waiting, and took his time to keep his conversation going). He messed up w/ calculation and asked 4€ less than expected. I reported what happened and paid the extra 4€. He said thanks, but non-verbally showed little appreciation.
Funny thing is that I had an exactly similar experience at a restaurant in nearby Lokev a few
months ago. On the occasion, I was charmingly thanked and just let go w/ no "extra" to pay. Of course I wasn't expecting the same thing to happen twice. A good meal would have been enough to satisfy my expectations...

I really recommend this restaurant, the food was simply delicious, especially the meat dishes and grilled vegetables. We were served by two kind waiters, Kuba and Ozi, who did their best to find out more about our preferences and then recommended first-class dishes. A must-visit stop on my next journey to Slovenia :) Kasia

We went there for dinner with family and it was delicious. Everything was really fresh, they have no menu, they simply reccomend what is fresh that day - great! The starters were amazing, especially the cuttlefish with basil. And definitely leave some room for dessert, they have the best freshly home-made desserts ever! Everything was not too sweet, just right.
And also the owner was the nicest. I reccomend!

I was very pleasently surprised with this restaurant. As we passed by we saw that they are roasting pig and lamb so we stopped to ask when will it be done. The guy was very friendly and said it's not done yet, that will take aprox. an hour, and that we can take a little walk and come back. We said no problem, after an hour we came back. The guy put the pig and lamb down in front of us :-). We took 2 portions of each, it was amazingly delicious!! We also took a bottle of very good red wine, which are sold at ridiculously low prices. Two other friends that are not fans of meat took risotto and fish plate for 2 persons (for only 19€!!) and they also said it was very good. Overall we were very positively surprised, the restaurant that doesn't look so nice and fancy from outside showed us the opposite. Good atmosphere, friendly staff and very good food and wine for little money. Definitely will be back!
