There is much to do in Kiruna for both outdoor adventure seekers and city dwellers alike. Given its close proximity to the Arctic Circle, Kiruna is a winter wonderland for skiing, snowboarding, dogsledding, ice fishing and snowmobile jumping. Its location also means nonstop sunlight in June and July and easy access to Kebnekaise, the highest mountain in Sweden. Kiruna Kyrka, the city's old church, is one of the largest wooden buildings in Sweden.

We were on a hunt for smoked reindear meal in Kiruna on a Sunday, when all of the restaurants in this city are closed and we made a few stops to ask the locals where we could get such food, I mean, there should be at least one place open for them to go out and eat in case they want to eat out, right? And one local woman told us that we should go to Annis.
When we arrived we saw that the parking at Annis´ were almost full with sleds, motorbikes and cars, and we thought, wow, this must be it!
The diner was decorated tastelessly, with white and apple green color combination but bright colors must be essential in the long and dark winters.
A half-smiling dark-haired girl greeted us at the cashier. I guess she must be tired from attending to lunch time customers earlier. Two Thai girls were preparing our food.
Our meals were simply delicious. We ate the smoked reindeer kebab served with salad, pepperoni, salsa sauce and mayonaisse but I found the sauces were a little odd combination to be eaten with the meat and fries. So I was very happy when I saw one of the tall curry sauce bottles imported from Germany, goes perfect with the fries!
A tip: Instead of french fries, my husband ordered potato mousse and he received lingon berry jam but there was no browns sauce on his plate! I asked him to check with the kitchen but he refused.
The meal costs 89kr per person inclusive of drinks, and warm coffee, tea or chocolate after the meal. There might even be cookies but I am not sure as we had to rush out after meal.
The outdoor patio was fully covered with snow but I am sure in the summer it is packed with people. It is probably not needed to book a table but perhaps useful if you come a big group. Unfortunately I do not have the telephone number to this diner. From the look of it, the place doesnt have a Delivery service. And there was no bar visible - definitely no alcohol served.

Great taste. Good variety. A mix of Thai food and grilled meats. Thai portions are served with rice while the grilled ones are with fried. Good quantity of food. Good ambience too. Overall worth what you pay. I don't normally rate restaurants 5 but this one is an exception.

A really, really nice dinner! Started with the tartar on moose, which turned out to be a good choice. Followed up with the entrecote with fries for the main course. Meat was cooked perfectly! Topped off with chocolate fondant, excellent! Good service throughout our meal as well.

Welcome to Restaurant Camp Ripan... ...and welcome to the exciting city of Kiruna, where the Swedish, Sami and Torne Valley Finnish cultures meet. Most of our produce comes from our three cultural regions, something we would like to tell you more about. Every dish has its own history. We know where the reindeer wandered and the fish were caught. Our kitchen follows the seasons - all eight of them. Completely according to the ageold Sami traditions. Our dishes are prepared with care, following traditional recipes and spiced with new twists and influences from around the world Restaurang Ripan strives to always choose the most eco-friendly and ethical alternative. Our coffee is eco-certified and we no longer serve bottled carbonated water. The water we serve comes from pristine glacier-fed rivers and is praised as the purest and besttasting in the world. Our goal is to give you a dining experience that moves your senses. Enjoy your meal!
We don't like these endless menu cards you will find in so many restaurants and countries. We found these cards in several restaurants in Scandinavia. But mainly we met places with a certain, concentrated idea: the chef's, the owner's. At Ripan, the idea is Slow-Food from Scandinavia. We ate there several times and were only disapointed by the ikea interieur - and maybe by the small portions.

Connected to the Hotel Bishops Inn, but it is a full-scale pub and restaurant.
Nice place, ready nice decoration, good arrangement and great variety of beers and other drinks.
Here is a pub, do not take as a restaurant but they serve good foods as well better that normal pubs! Yes, it is a little complicated, I believe it is like this for themselves as well. They wanna be a great pub but in parallel behave (just try to) like a restaurants and surprisingly the quality of the food was very good: not as good as a reviewer has said "Best Fish & Chips Ever" but it is good and Pricy!
I found all restaurants here is Kiruna are pricy, I don't understand why but it is! Turism is the reason but how much? 180SEK for fish and chips? 225SEK for a hamburger?! and beers start from ˜85kr.
The other thing I wanna add is first the service. Not good at all!
you would pay min 250kr for a meal and you have to order at the cashier, it takes looooong time 30-45min to bring it and they do not bring you the bill and you cannot pay that at your sit! again cashier! so what I have paid for? Do you expect to get a tip as well in this case that let me to right the payment?!!! what for?!
The lost word. Nice place but no, it is not valuable on this price but.... how many other options do you have in Kiruna? :)
PS. yes I know it is not (hopefully) a printed paper they serves the F&C with but I do not like to eat (or think I am doing it) ink! I prefer to have my meal in a plat instead.

Today we dined at the Palladium after a recommendation from Siri, when looking for the best pizza restaurant in Kiruna.
Well the pizza was great, we had a children’s cheese pizza for our 9 year old, a ham and mushroom Calzone for my self and one of the Palladium specials for my wife, all in all the pizza were the best ones we have had during our trip to the Nordics. However what made our dinner really special was the off menu garlic and cheese pizza we had in lieu of garlic bread for an entree. This was probably the best pizza/garlic bread we have ever had, a true balance of cheese, garlic and sea salt.
The service was fast and very friendly, even though there was a skeleton crew on the team did not miss a beat even when two groups of about twelve people came in.
The interior is more of a cafe set up, but is cosy and welcoming.
We would highly recommend the pizza’s and service from this restaurant.

Please read this in perspective. Is it mouth watering Thai food as we have enjoyed in Thailand? No. Is it good for the money? Yes. Is your wallet suffering from so many expensive meals in Kiruna, then I'd recommend it. Neither of us were particularly hungry and therefore didn't want to spend £60 on dinner. Instead we had a Thai curry each and a drink for the grand total of £20. Food was very tasty, service was quick and if we wanted another cheap meal we would return without hesitation. Please note it is a fast food restaurant, not a "proper" sit down restaurant.

We asked in town where was the best place for lunch, and this was the answer that kept coming up. Great for lunch or a coffee break, the crowd at the counter indicated how popular this yellow building was. We came back several times for smoked salmon on salads or in a Sandwich, and the carrot cake.

Everything we had was delicious but there was only 1 choice of starter, 3/4 mains and 1 desert. Not cheap by UK standards but a very high standard of food. We had one starter, 2 mains, a coffee, 1 glass of wine and 2 non alcoholic beers and it was £80. Vegetarians weren't well catered for but you cuold probably ask in advance

I went there with a group of six friends from the US and we were all thoroughly disappointed with the quality of the burgers. We were excited to find an American style diner to enjoy a nice lunch, but instead left with dissatisfaction. I order a double burger with cheese and knew the burger was not good from the first bite. I could only eat half of it before throwing it away. It also made me feel sick afterwards. The atmosphere and French fries were decent but I think the burgers are made with low quality meat and the sauce tasted expired. Honestly this was one of the worst burger experiences of my life.
