Stopped here for lunch on the way back from a boat trip. We felt really welcome and the food was well presented and delicious. The musicians were very talented and even sang "Happy Birthday" to me, I have no idea how they knew. The staff were so friendly and enjoyed our attempts at Spanish!

El Uvero restaurant, born of a dream, was inaugurated on December 1, 2011. It is a small restaurant in the Cuban style, located in the town of Yaguajay Banes (archaeological capital of Cuba), close to the aboriginal museum and the taina village of the jet of Maita, just 4 km from Guardalavaca Beach, the most beautiful of the Cuban East. In its beginnings it had to face the tough competition in the area, but working hard, training the owners, choosing the team and making a difference with the service, the taste of their cuisine and a wide variety of dishes prepared by experienced chefs in the culinary arts,
We travelled to this restaurant via a 1956 open top opel. What a way to travel ! after walking between 2 unbuilt houses and walking through the washing hanging on the line we had a great meal, once again eating with the locals highly recommend...MoreThe team at Restaurant El Uvero thanks them very much for your opinion, and we are very happy to have influenced his stay in Cuba has been pleasant, grcias Many hope to see again. ing. On Reading such excellent reviews on Tripadvisor regarding El Eden,I decided to take my partner there on our visit to Cuba November 2015. To say we were both disappointed is an understatement...the menu consisted of 3 starters 2 of which were unavailable,so had to settle for Ham(pork luncheon meat) and Cheese.Main course had a choice of only 4 bland options, two of which were unavailable.Asked for a Mojito to drink...guess what...unavailable!! Settled for a glass of wine, which WAS available but "off". Having eaten in many restaurants over the years,my partner and I found El Eden to be very disappointing and for what we had, very expensive.
We were picked up and returned to our hotel in an old American car the cost for the return fare being 30 cuc,on the return journey we were told we would have to share the car ,but this was not reflected in the cost. All in all a very expensive, disappointing evening, and would not recommend El Eden. .

A group of friends and I recently had the most delicious food ever in a Cuban restaurant. The tables were set out lovingly in spectacular Gardens affording all guests privacy and space Most of us ate the marlin, tender melt in your mouth perfection served with a salad and rice and crisp sweet potato chips. The host Ariel and his wife Anya made us feel as if we were family . We all look forward to a return visit on our next vacation.

Visited on a hot afternoon - combinations of soup and seafood cocktail enjoyed by the four of us. With beer, the bill was 15 CUC - very reasonable!
Went here by chance as our driver would not take us to the restaurant we specifically requested - said it was closed and that the view was better here. That was somewhat disappointing as it was open and we felt the view was not as good here.

Our party of 5 visited the restaurant for my Birthday on February 3rd, and we were not disappointed with what we got. I had visited the restaurant the last time I was in Cuba, so I knew exactly where my birthday dinner needed to be. A complimentary birthday cake from the restaurant was "the icing on the cake"! The beautiful parrot that makes an appearance is an added bonus, the view is miraculous, and the food is fresh and delicious. The owner and his wife work at Club Amigo, and the husband picked us up from the hotel and dropped us back off, it was amazing.

We went here for lunch one day. My husband loves his pizza. I can live without it and I can't eat cheese but we compromise. I ordered without cheese and after a 70 minute wait it came with cheese. My husband enjoyed his and I ate French fries on the beach.
His pizza experience turned into a nightmare. He had severe food poisoning. I have never seen him that ill since I have known him.
This was our experience so we will not try again. May have just been a bad day.

I was fortunate to eat at the restaurant before it officially opened. The food is incredible and more importantly the staff are wonderful! I highly recommend this restaurant for those needing a break from the monotony of resort food!

Tried this lovely little place after being recommended by our taxi driver. Was a surreal experience eating in the garden of a family home amongst their chickens but it was a lovely meal and great night.
The lobster was fantastic thick, fresh and juicy perfectly grilled the rice was also perfectly seasoned. This was the best meal I had whilst visiting Cuba would highly recommend booking here if you are in the area.
