The Loibnerhof is the longstanding classic pillar of restaurants in the Wachau. For decades, it has enjoyed cult status for its outstanding regional cuisine.
Our local guide brought us to this vineyard in our Danube tour. It was a place that he threw a party in.
The ambience is just lovely, charming and peaceful. Definitely the highlight of our tour. The wine was as expected, really good. But what surprised us was that the dessert was one of the best that we have tried. We have had many desserts in our holiday in Austria, and we find ourselves thinking of the dessert we had here.

Mixed feelings about this place.. The surroundings are superb and the waiters untypically friendly for austrians but the desserts we came here to enjoy (specifically, due to the apricots) were tasteless.. Too bad.. At least the garden was lovely.

Landhaus Bacher has been one of the first culinary addresses in the Wachau for many years. It is one of Austria’s very best restaurants.
I have heard a lot about this place and I am glad to have finally visited. Service was impeccable and the space gorgeous. My only small gripe is that the WC is across the courtyard. If you are female and it rains... you are stuck in mud, I presume. Enough of that...
The food was excellent and absolutely delicious. Perfectly plated and paced, it was definitely worth the visit. I had the spring veggie menu and, because it was easter, the dinner ended with an easter bunny filled with chocolate covered nuts. Yum! I also ordered the souffle/rhubarb Schmarrn for which I had high expectations. I think it needed a bit more sugar and far less hazelnuts. The latter overpowered the subtle egg flavor if the souffle.

The Weinhaus Nigl is a restaurant / Hotel and belongs to the vinary Nigl. In the restaurant you get typical austrian dishes and also some saisonal dishes. The Weinhaus also got 12 individuell rooms.
We were wondering about the region few days back and once needing a decent place for a lunch, we happened to find Nigl. We knew of its wines, but decided to sample the restaurant as well.
The staff was great and the food even better. I have just had the best asparagus in my life. Simple, with young potatoes and hollandaise sauce, it was just amazing. Also the others were really happy.
The veltliners from the Privat line were superb, overall it was splendid experience. If you are around, you must visit.

This Gasthaus should be at the top of the list of stop-off spots along the Danube Cycle Path. While Duernstein and Krems have their share of excellent restaurants, this location is between the two, and having stopped on two occasions on a bike tour of the Donauradweg, for the sheer pleasure of eating home-cooked food, the Wachauer Stuben is definitely our top pick. From the mouth-watering Wiener Schnitzel, to the exquisite Marillen-Knoedel and Palatschinken, you just cannot go wrong. Our visits were four years apart, and the quality has remained consistent. The house wines are perfectly acceptable, and we found the pricing quite reasonable. What more can one say. You should go!!! (And the owner will sit with you while pencil-handwriting the bill)

The Heurigenhof Bründlmayer is no ordinary heuriger buffet. In this preciously beautiful ensemble of historic buildings, you enjoy superb cuisine and the preeminent stars of the Austrian wine scene, courtesy of Bründlmayer.
We have been there for a dinner with a 1.5 year old son. We expected some problems with him because he is not very quiet. But the staff make a table for us in the back room, so we did not disturb others.
The meal was perfect, also our son likes everything and that is not very usual :) Personal was very kind
So 100% recommended, imo best restaurant in Langenlois.

Ein Gasthaus mit sehr schöner Lage, Service nett, Essen sehr gut, Preis Leistung auf jeden Fall ok, die Toiletten sind leider renovierungsbedürftig, alles in allem zu empfehlen!

The staff, atmosphere and of course the food is excellent. Special food wishes, due to allergies or intolerances, is absolutely no problem. Big charming courtyard is also available. The quality of the restaurant is excellent. Don't forget to stop by a drink at the in-house bar. Two charming barkeepers and an excellent choice of drinks are available.
