The WINE TRAIL Langenlois leads through the famous Langenlois vineyard sites Dechant, Käferberg, Steinhaus and Schenkenbichl, taking you on a journey of discovery into the exciting and challenging 'vineyard workplace'.
We were staying at the Loisium Wine and Spa. And 8km walk around the Weinweg is good contrast to wining and dining :) The route is beautiful and there's a lot of interesting information along the way. Remember to bring water or other drinks along on a sunny day!

We visitied Schloss Gobelsburg on a cruise tour and had a tasting and cellar tour. The cellar tour was nice but nothing unique compared to hundreds of other cellar tours. The wine tasting was nice, featuring a range of their wines, which are of good quality. A nice outing and an opportunity to taste wines that are a cut above most of the Wachau.

I just love this place - like love, love, love it. It's probably my favorite "family-friendly" destination in the greater Vienna area (1 hour away). Something for everyone, and around every corner a whimsical, magical experience. The website really does NOT do it justice. If you have a kid under the age of 10, this is a must.

A beautiful excursian to Upper Austrias Kamptal.Near destinations are Krems (medieval town) and the famouse Wachau, which is world heretige region.
GRAFENEGGS park , castle, concertbuildings etc.are surrounded by an old wall with 2 entrances.
In the middle of a wonderful English park with magestic old, big trees a middleage castle spreads its tudorstyle splendor like a fairytail castle of Disneys Sleeping Beauty.
Everybody is wellcome there, either to have a picknic on the very well kept lawns, or to have a sightseeingtour through the castle or to lunch at the very well known Mörwald Hotel Restaurant.
But the highlights of this location are the summernightgalas from June 15 till September 07.Founded by the brilliant pianist Rudolf Buchbinder it hosts famous orchestras and solists from all over the world. The prices are affordable and for 10 Euros you could sit on the lawn too.For more information see"grafenegg.com" in the inernet. Not far from the entrance there is the futuristic concertbuilding, called "Wolkenturm", meaning " Tower in the clouds". When the weather turns to be more "English", one will be acommodated in a nice concerthall.Last not least I would like to mention that all these pleasure of the senses would not be possible without the sponsoring of the Upperaustrian Government, the generosity of Duke Metternich and many other sponsors of Austria.
So, do not hesitate to visit this enchanted place.

ATTENTION! The Karikaturmuseum Krems closes temporarily until May 12, 2017 due to reconstruction works. Reopening will take place on 13 May 2017. Karikaturmuseum Krems is the very unique museum for caricature, cartoons, comics and satire art in Austria. Founded in 2001, the architect and caricaturist Gustav Peichl / IRONIMUS planned the museum and enriches Krems with its Exhibitions. There are also about 2-3 temporary Exhibitions per year where artworks from popular international cartoonists are shown.
When we visited this museum, its shows were dedicated to two cartoonist/humorists, Manfred Deix and Guillermo Mordillo. In addition to stills of the latter's works, there were also screens showing various short films of his cartoons, all involving his signature tiny people with big bulbous noses. We loved the museum, and thought its light-hearted atmosphere made a nice contrast to a day in Krems that had involved lots of monuments like the Piaristenkirche.

Have you ever asked yourself how the wine gets into the bottle and what a winemaker has to do all year round? You can find the answers to these questions in the LOISIUM WineExperience located in Langenlois, Lower Austria. Amongst the vineyards nosy parkers have the chance to discover the fascinating world of wine within a labyrinth underneath the surface, which is 1.5 kilometres long and about 900 years old.Since the opening in 2003 the LOISIUM has established itself to the centre for wine and culture in Lower Austria. The tour to the wine museum LOISIUM begins with a visit to the 900-year-old cellars, mystical, mysterious labyrinth of ancient wine cellar invites you to take an unusual walk, accompanied by amusing stories about wine. Both summer and winter, there reigns a constant temperature - about 10 degrees. Somewhere in the middle the road leads through the courtyard of the former winemaker, where you can learn how people lived 100 years ago. The modern architecture impresses from the outside and hides an old wine cellar and really informative explanations for viticulture.
At the end of the 90-minute tour with audio guide you will visit the wine shop in the main building in the form of supernatural cube. There you can taste and buy local wines. Highly recommended.

Outstanding winery tour. If you enjoy wine and winery tours you will love the tour of Winzer Krems. Our tour included 5 wine tastings spaced through the tour and our tour guide was very knowledgable as she was the daughter of a vineyard owner. The tour includes a 3D video with smells included in the video. The wines are good quality, especially the Gruner Veltliner and Riesling. Definitely recommend this tour if you are in Krems.
