Aubergine is still one of our top Canberra restaurants for a dining experience, especially to celebrate special occasions. A special decade birthday was the occasion for this visit to Aubergine. It didn’t disappoint. From the subtle and subdued lighting to the quality table settings and, most importantly, the highest quality food in terms of flavour and presentation, Aubergine continues to maintain an ultra high standard. We started with glasses of celebratory sparkling Australian wine followed by a 2-course meal ($90 for each 2 course dinner) with matching wines ($50 per person) and concluding with strong and flavoursome macchiatos. A three-course option is also available but we generally find that two courses is enough for us. The wine waiter explained the wines in detail and how they were chosen to match the food. It was a fabulous dining experience that celebrated the special birthday in an appropriate manner. The total for food and drinks was $319 and that amount suited the superb quality for all aspects of the dinner from staff interaction to the setting and the food and wines. It was well worth the money. A fabulous evening.

Chef & owner Serif Kaya has been wooing diners at Ottoman Cuisine with his much awarded Turkish food since 1992. Modern day Turkish food is a result of the vast Ottoman Empire, spanning over three continents, with access to many markets & cultures. The menu at the Ottoman Cuisine consists of classic Turkish dishes that have withstood the test of time. There are also the dishes that Serif has created; inspired by his culinary heritage & his new home. The specials of the day bring you the best of the seasonal produce. In the Ottoman tradition, we recommend sharing your dishes in order for you to experience the fantastic range of flavours on offer. Please ask your waiter if you would like to try a tasting menu.
Went there with a group and had the banquet. It was delicious. The prawn being the highlight for me along with the chicken. The staff were great and catered to the people in our group who had dietary requirements responding with beautiful alternatives. Priced reasonably well for the quality of both food and service.

Wanted a special lunch to celebrate our anniversary and was very pleased we chose Lanterne Rooms. A little surprised by the restaurant tucked away in the Campbell shops. It looks. Itching special and you would easily just walk past. Inside it is tidy and clean but nothing spectacular. The service was impeccable and we were given plenty of attention. We chose the executive lunch as this let us sample all the things that had caught our attention from the menu. Meals came out very quickly and were an explosion of flavour. Good quantity of everything. A little rest between courses would have been welcomed. Overall it was a lovely meal, we left extremely satisfied. Photos don’t do justice to the flavors.

Finding my favourite cafe had changed hands, I felt a bit flat, and didn't want the offerings of the new owners, so I googled 'best burghers in Fyshwick' and stumbled upon this little treasure. The coffee was sensational - smooth, delicious... really excellent, and the True Blue Aussie steak Sandwich was also sensational - rump, beetroot, lettuce, caramelised onions and cheese... crispy on the outside, juicy plus on the inside.
Far from flash - I may not have gone in without the review - but a find. My new favourite!

Returning from interstate for a visit, this place was our go-to favourite. Granted they are in the middle of renovations, they have improvised by a pop up style bbq with Seating in car park. Was a little off putting hearing the owner talking to staff - usually this would not be heard. Sounded quite stressed. Coffee was ok. Breakfast roll not as good....think this is due to the type of bread/roll used. It was very dense almost stale. However serving is very generous...plenty of bacon. Will be interested to see the premises when it’s finished...looks very large.

We had work in Fyshwick which is a light industrial suburb. In the past places to eat have typically been fast food or takeaways but more places like Box Dine are popping up. The ambience is great with a very nice decor, good music and friendly staff. The menu was not huge but a good range and the specials were excellent. A great choice if you are in the area.

All was good for breakfast. The service was swift and pleasant. The portion sizes were large enough for even the hungriest tradie and the food was well presented and cooked. The only downside was the toast- which was supposedly sourdough, but not the best.

The Pomegranate restaurant delivers simple, tasty food that is Modern Australian with a Mediterranean influence catering for, lunch and dinner. Meals are served in a relaxed and friendly environment with beautiful surroundings where diners can enjoy the rustic, semi-industrial atmosphere, quality coffee, food and wine with family and friends.
Good place for a special occasion meal. My scallops and kingfish were good, and others enjoyed the calamari, eggplant boat and chicken breast dishes. With two of us having a crème brûlée, one bottle of Jansz sparkling and one espresso, the bill came to $365 for five people. The canned music was initially a bit intrusive, but they were prepared to turn it down. They still do the slightly dated and irritating thing of ‘stacking’ the food for the main courses, rather than distributing it around the plate. But overall pretty good.

Fantastic restaurant tucked away at the nondescript Narrabundah shops. Lovely ambiance along with very friendly and efficient staff. The shantung bao and crispy lamb ribs were standouts for us on this evening. Every mouthful was a taste explosion. We also had the steamed dumplings, sexy squid and cauliflower nuggets. Dessert was a delightful pandan panna cotta with gula melaka and sesame tuile. Yum! Great restaurant - can't wait to come back to explore the rest of the menu.
